It does, but it all comes down to 3rd part support for the games.
NES had 3rd party support (Forced companies into a monopoly)
SNES had 3rd party support (Maybe my favorite system of all time)
N64 really lacked 3rd party support due to not using CD's.
Gamecube had decent 3rd party support
Wii had 3rd party support, but in the wrong way. Such an under-powered machine, good 3rd partys abonded it within a year or so, only leaving the shovelware 3rd partys.
Wii-U 3rd party support is almost non-existent.
The Switch better have the graphics power to at least compete with PS4/XBONE. Companies dont want to make a game, port it to both systems, then recreate a stripped dumb downed version for a Nintendo system, and thats why they left the Wii and Wii-U alone. Its sad to say that us real gamers dont use Nintendo, and thats because we dont trust Nintendo.
Actually i have given up console gaming years ago and now strictly represent the PC Master Race.
