Heat-Kings discussing Dragic for Gay trade

Post#1 » by walk with me » Tue Oct 18, 2016 7:54 pm

I personally like it... Gay only has one more year left on his deal whatever we can do to open up more cap space for the future, i'm in favor of.

media throwing **** against the wall and hoping it sticks. Cap space without star players to spend it on means nothing, Dragic's value is only going to go up during the season.

If we're trading Dragic, I want those two 1st round picks we gave away for him back ... and the Kings better take McRoberts!

I don't know. That Gay rumor has been around since last season. For some reason we either like him or his contract a lot.

I think it's mostly from Rudy's camp..he wants to be here and has wanted to for a few years. We should stall them out, wait until the deadline and flip a few scrubs for him like we did Dragic.

Honestly I don't like Gay at all as a player. On the heat or anywhere else. And even if we get him only for a season or half a season he's taking away minutes from our youth at the 3. Only way I'd even consider the trade is if he gives his word not to pick up his player option ( plus getting picks back ). Which he won't do IMO.

Do not see any reason for the Heat to trade Dragic for Rudy Gay. I can see a package deal involving TJ for Gay. Remember Kings tried to acquire TJ last yr. But that can't happen now and I don't know TJ trade clauses in his deal. But I wouldn't take this rumor seriously..

Call me a homer, but I still wouldnt trade TJ for Gay straight up... Gay is a glorified journey-man.

Well if you want a playoff team then Dragic - Richardson - Winslow - Gay - Whiteside would good enough to compete for a playoff seed. I would try to pry WSC in the deal.

I don't like the trade unless they add a draft pick.

At the same time there are LMA rumours, and Smitty (on the TB) has said that he had heard they may target cap space if they trade him. Riley did wine & dine LMA when we had no $ & LMA agreed to talk knowing this. This sounds like a Riley move, and sometimes a move like this has to have a step 1, which could be changing Dragic for expiring deals.

The only way Gay exercises his player option is if he suffers a serious injury. He can do much better than $14.3 million in free agency.

Riley shouldnt even be near that chit organization/owner.. at any costs. Idiot of an owner keeps making random rumors with every team every season.
