I'm scared as hell about Urias, frankly... But I'm rooting for him. I can't imagine pitching at his age on this stage.

Full Confidence in Urias

I have faith in Urias not only because of his stuff, but he has great competitive mental makeup. I'm more concerned with the amount of innings he'll provide for us but Dave Roberts said that he won't be on a pitch count as much as his outing being evaluated on his performance. While he's still immature physically with respect to arm development, he hasn't pitched much at all during the last month of the regular season or even the postseason. I certainly have more confidence in Urias than I do with Maeda right now.

Utley hasn't had a hit this post season, and I feel like it is gonna come at a very crucial moment tomorrow.

Waiting on Utley

He better. He's been a bit of a black hole offensively where I've been contemplating starting Howie Kendrick over him even with the right-handed pitcher opposing us.

Not Counting on Ryu Coming Back

I hope Ryu can still contribute for us next season and beyond, but to be honest, I'm not counting on him at this point until he shows he can stay healthy.

His make up is competitive as hell and I think that will dominate over any nerves or jitters.

I would like to keep Howie as a pinch hitter and defensive option for a double switch knowing Urias may not get past 5 tomorrow. Utley had a few good swings that just didn't get the barrel of the bat on, but timing was right on those. a few others he got the barrel on, timing was awful, naturally. but he is too good of a veteran with championship experience to go zip for forever

Jansen Called Upon Again to Slam the Door Shut

Post#635 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 19, 2016 2:59 am

Kenley Jansen comes in to relieve Grant Dayton for a 4-out save after he gave up the 2-out double in the 8th inning.
