Julio Urias's Moment on the Big Stage

Post#681 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 19, 2016 8:57 pm

I'm so excited to see Urias pitch tonight. He has the stuff, composure, and mentality to excel but it's also his 1st time starting in the postseason. Lest we forget, the Cubs are still a very dangerous team. It is vital that we keep them down with their continued struggles offensively. Julio is certainly capable of keeping Chicago in check, so I just hope he comes out and executes his pitches and follows the team's game plan against the Cubs.

Lineups for Game 4 of NLCS

Post#682 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:46 pm

Personally, I'd rather have Toles bat leadoff for the Dodgers and have Utley either sandwiched between Reddick and Pederson 6th in the batting order or 8th before the pitcher's spot.

Also, for Harold Reynolds, Joe Maddon, and all those other haters "balking" at recognizing Julio's pick-off move as being a legitimate weapon against baserunners:

There seems to be some ambiguity in the rule book with regards to defining balks, but the fact is, no umpire has called a balk on Urias thus far into his MLB career so FOH.

Bench Utley

Post#689 » by Ranma » Thu Oct 20, 2016 12:40 am

I've been onboard with benching Utley, so if he can't get on base or catch a ball to record an out off of Seager's great defensive play, it's time for him to sit.

Urias Pitching Out of Trouble

The 2nd inning was harder than it should have been, but I'm certainly glad Urias got himself out of it unscathed, especially since he left a couple of balls over the plate. He needs to execute better.

For Whom the Bell Toles

Post#694 » by Ranma » Thu Oct 20, 2016 12:58 am

That's why I want Toles leading off. The dude just produces. If A-Gon had average speed, he'd have scored easily. However, as it is, we should get the call upon replay review.

Update: Apparently, MLB's replay offices in New York wants to help America's team with that horrible decision not to overturn that out call at the plate. Eff you, MLB!

this is true. Toles right now is a much better leadoff than Utley. and we just got robbed of that run. Gonzo's fingers was on the plate just before Contreras was able to tag his chin.

Toles deserves to be an everyday LFer or at least primary LFer with a platoon mate and leadoff next season.

just like NBA or any other entertainment game, it is the ratings game. right now Cubbies will bring in more revenue than a projected WS of Indians and Dodgers.
