Why can't Nerlens come to the preseason games and sit on the bench in a suit like Jah does?

Well Okafor is able to participate in shooting drills etc, so he can join the team in the practices prior to the actual match. So I get that it would be sort of a waste of time for Nerlens to join the team on road games when you can spend that time for rehabilitating. No excuses for his absence during home games imo.
But let's be a bit openminded towards NN. He's been our main entertainment factor for the last few years with his passion and defense. Considering the current logjam situation he has the right to be a bit down, should not take to long though and effect team morale.

He's coming off an underwhelming sophomore season and he's yet to prove that he's a legitimate starting C in this league. Showing up to camp with a piss poor attitude and going out of his way to be an outsider is unacceptable.
I get that his feelings are hurt, but nothing he's doing is beneficial to himself or the team. With the new cap he's likely in line for a max contract next season, whether it's with us or someone else (probably someone else). He'd be wise to just go to work every day and let things play out.

I wish Noel would just suck it up and do what's best for the team...accept a role, whatever it may be, and let things play out. If he wants out at the end of the season then do it then. Don't be posturing now when the season is about to start.
I'm willing to give Noel a pass for his slumping third year mostly for the one of the reasons I give Okafor a pass last year on certain things. Philly had no PG or any steady backcourt play. Noel isn't going to shine on offense by going one on one. He needs a playmaker to play with. When Ish and Noel were on the same page, Noel did show that he can be useful and effective on offense...albeit different than Embiid and Okafor. Maybe Noel can find some chemistry with Rodriguez. On offense if he's Tyson Chandler in his prime or Deandre Jordan, then that's good enough.
All I know is sulking, if that is indeed what is happening, doesn't help anything.

Not going to happen. We're dealing with Nerlens Noel...the guy who was ranked top 3 in high school, who was the starting big a UK as a freshman, who was predicted to go #1 in the Draft before the injury, who currently makes $3-4 million as a 22 year old and sees guys only a few years older getting $100+ million deals, etc. He's accustomed to being at the top so I highly doubt he's going to all of a sudden play second fiddle to guys the same age as him and who haven't been with the team as long.
Would be great if he accepted such a role, but with this team, it's probably not going to happen.

There's a long list of highly touted prospects that haven't panned out - e.g. Pelvis Ellison, Anthony Bennet, Hasheem Thabeet, Michael Beasley, Evan Turner, Joe Alexander, Tyrus Thomas.... Maybe Nerlens and his agent better do some studying. If Nerlens turns into Biyombo, he should be ashamed. I guess he'll be laughing all the way to the bank, but Biyombo is a pretty far fall from grace for all of his hype.

If Noel plays the same role that Biyombo plays, I think he is going to be safely at least 25% better, and maybe more if he hits his stride over the next 2 years.
That would be a very valuable player in the NBA that would deserve the contract. It just won't be with us unless Embiid needs his foot amputated in the next 90 days, and Okafor gets traded.
It sucks that we may have to eat it value wise in a trade of him this year, but that was always a risk of the drafting strategy, that I still support, AND resulted in getting our best player(Embiid), while maintaining the position to get Simmons.
We need to trade him for as much as we can get between now and the deadline, or maybe even now and when Simmons comes back.

Re: Where is Nerlens?
I'm start thinking that the best duo on offense is Noel-Embiid: Noel is going to miss a ton of throws with his shaky jumper and Embiid is going to score a ton of putbacks.
Perfect formula

Agreed on pretty much everything you said especially the Biyombo stuff which his supporters like to throw out as his comparable. If that all he ends up being then thats on him.
It's a travesty how little he's developed since entering the league.

Why do they need to quote a source with knowledge of the talks? I could have saved them some time and research by saying the same thing. I'm guessing this entire board could have. What an insightful tweet. I wonder if this same source believes that GS will be tough to stop offensively with all his insider access.

Maybe when Biyombo makes the league realized how overpaid he is, we can re-sign Noel at a bargain.

He'll have to serve his suspension first.
But yeah Biyombo got overpaid based on what he did in the playoffs. Turned 2,5 million into what 70 million that will work out well for ORL. They also got hosed badly on the Ibaka deal. They needed perimeter scoring. Fournier and Payton aren't going to get it done.

Nerlens Noel could not be contained at the Champion Sports Medicine complex in Birmingham, Ala., where orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews' physical therapy chief, Kevin Wilk, treated the Philadelphia 76ers rookie after his left ACL was repaired.
i think he's revisting the same doctors.
but still - trade

Plenty of teams looking like they can use him for rim protection and rebounds already. plus holmes looks great and does the same things as well as embiid in the starting minutes. at least jah gives your something else.
