Well he just took Jackson befor Bentil so.... It's too difficult to judge the second rounders, part of me just thinks you take the guy with the one great attribute or the rawest player. Bentil was a sophomore who left school early and who's to say Jackson wouldn't have looked better if he saw the minutes Felder has in the preseason. My only gripe with the team is they took the stash players too early, you could have used the 16th pick on a big with more upside than Bentil like Elleson or somone than used their first second rounder on Zubac or possibly still Yabs. With all the mid to late firsts and early seconds over the past five seasons you would think they would have hit on at least one player by now. You look at teams like Denver, L.A., S.A., they've managed to find some real gems later in the draft(yes, I know Bradley, Al,etc... but how many picks haven't worked out since then?).

I would prefer to take the stash players where we took them. Get our guys, and then that's it. I wanted Guerschon and Felder in the draft. But, Felder is an IT clone and we probably had a 1st round grade on Jackson. WHile else sign him to a guaranteed deal?

Pretty obvious Young is either getting cut or traded and Hunter is going to make the team.

RJ played better and has an extra year of control.

It's a no brainer.

We are past keeping youth for youth's sake. Green will win games this year, immediately. Right now, there back of roster decisions should all be done with the present as the over-riding factor. No more development. It's about what you can offer RIGHT NOW.

No more developement? Which young Ainge drafted player in the past few years has been developed into a decent stater? This team is nowhere near close to as talented as Cleveland, you have to develope some of these kids into assets if you want to land a star to get you there. You have to find a happy medium as this team just got gifted the third pick in the draft, you can't waist that type of oppertunity.

Bradley, Rozier probably will be soon as will Brown.

I think the opposite. Neither is worth losing sleep over though.

Green's a proven scorer in this league. There's absolutely nothing to it. the other two guys, on the other hand, haven't proven squat. Plus he comes at the league minimum salary and we need scoring badly cause we had no one who could put the ball through the rim against the Hawks outside of IT and AB who went down. Green is a way better scorer than the little bit you saw of him this preseason. You'll see. So my guess is that hunter's cut if no trade can be made.

Can't wait for the official announcement that either Hunter or Young is gone, just so it can stop the silliness about it being Green who is getting cut. He's not going anywhere. He was in the game probably because he hasn't gotten a lot of minutes in preseason and it's his last chance before the regular games start.

I think you are pretty much on point. It's a tossup for me on who I want for the future. However, the extra year of control makes it a pretty easy decision in my opinion.

I think our draft kind of shows how important future control can be.

I actually think that Hunter is more likely to get picked up on a waiver claim, and that saves us money. We don't need either.

Boston must still drop one more player before the start of the regular season, and Ainge told ESPN that Green is safe as the team continues to explore possible deals that might allow them to recoup an asset while dropping the roster to the regular-season limit of 15 players.

The Celtics would prefer to trade Hunter or Young to either avoid eating salary or bring back a draft pick. The trouble there is that teams know the Celtics are in a bind and are unlikely to offer much knowing one of those players will simply become available next week.

Ainge said the decision on the final roster spot likely won't occur until Monday.

They just signed Ryan Kelly, announced as of a few minutes ago, but he looks ticketed for the D-League.

The Celtics signed recently waived Hawks forward Ryan Kelly, who will likely be sent to Maine.

BOSTON — The Celtics announced they have signed forward Ryan Kelly Friday. The Celtics signed him immediately after he cleared waivers following his release by the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday.

Barring a multi-player trade, Kelly will fill an affiliated player slot on the Maine Red Claws, which would have gone to Ben Bentil before he was waived Friday.

The 6’11, 230 lbs. stretch four is 25-years-old after three seasons with the Lakers. He showed promise to be a rotation player in his rookie season, most notably when he visited the Garden and scored 20 points in a surprise win over the Celtics.

This seems to be a highlight vid of KO getting torched. Maybe we brought him in specifically to teach Kelly how to execute a proper pump fake :dontknow:

Just hurry up and trade Young, Hunter and Boston's 2018 first round pick for Noel or Okafor already.

Not sure they let top 10 drafted big man that have shown they can be rotational players for the next decade plus for what is essentially a late round first.

That goes for both Noel and Embiid. They'll at least want the Brooklyn swap option in a trade like this. Or sub in Bradley for one of the trash guys.

That comment was (mainly) a joke, but I can dream a little.

Though Noel is having surgery on his knee, is unhappy in Philly, has significant limitations on his game, is an impending RFA but seems unlikely to resign there etc so his value is only going to get lower. No way is he anywhere near worth a Brooklyn pick though.
