Pistons sign Mamadou N'Diaye

Post#1 » by MotownMadness » Sat Oct 22, 2016 4:38 pm

AUBURN HILLS (97.1 The Ticket) – The Detroit Pistons announced Saturday that the club has signed Mamadou N’Diaye to a contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

N’Diaye, a 7-6, 300-pound center averaged 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks during the 2015-16 season at UC Irvine.

Following three years of collegiate basketball with the Anteaters, the Dakar, Senegal native went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. N’Diaye played summer league basketball this past July with the Golden State Warriors.

Seems like he will be cut and designated for Grand Rapids.

20. Where do NBA Development League players come from?

There are eight different paths a player can take to the NBA D-League:

NBA teams can designate up to four players that they cut during training camp as “affiliate players,” meaning those players will join that team’s NBA D-League affiliate (should the players choose to sign into the NBA D-League). These players are signed under contract with the league rather than the team, however, meaning they are technically free agents who can be called up to any of the 30 NBA teams.

Not a bad gamble to take though.
