Next summer would be the ideal time. They could trade an extended Bradley, Crowder and a BRK pick and since Thompson wouldn't be extension eligible, they'd be pretty close to the same cap space now in terms of pursuing a max FA.

Only issue with that is if they signed someone it could be hard to do an extension the following year, but maybe those rules change.

While I'd be opposed to trading Crowder to a bad team just because it's a bit of backstab, trading Bradley and/or Crowder to the Warriors would be totally acceptable in the right deal.

Naaaaaaah. I love Blake, a passing big with handles? Ah that's the best. But, this guy is an expiring contract, noway they get AB too. Possibly could sign him out right, but we'd be pulling him away from the second biggest media market in the US. Another issue is Blake might not age all that well with a lot of his game being based on athleticism. On the other hand, IT and AB hit the free market in 2018. So if we are to maximize our cap space, we gotta get our guy soon so we can max those two and still utilize the space we would have in 2017.

Agree. Also Thompson'a salary is so low they could potentially do some really interesting things.

Excuse me while I day dream about trading for Klay and signing Paul George.

Pondering whether I want to get into arguments about Klay being overrated...

We can always trade the farm for Harrison Barnes...
Read on Twitter

EDIT: It was Kris Dunn who shot 22.6 FG%. Barnes shot 26.7%.

In other news, Zizic had 10 points, 3 rebounds and an assist (14 mins) in the 1st half of their (still ongoing) game vs. Olimpija.

And Zizic finished game with 18pts (7/9 FG, 4/6 FT) and 10rbs
There's only one statistics that's important: who won...Bill Russell

Interesting.. Especially in light of the take-down of Draymond Green, possible that was sourced from Klay's camp. Destabilizes things a little, pushes for roster movement, gets teams calling.

Just not sure how much Klay is underrated or overrated...

Winning will solve the issues. As much as I wish that they implode, I don't see it.

IT/Rozier/Jackson
Bradley/Green/McLemore
Crowder/Gay
Horford/Jerebko
Cousins/Olynyk/Mickey

I think that team can beat Cleveland though.

Agree with getting Gay and McLemore too, but would rather trade Crowder than Brown. Gotta think long-term.

I'd do Crowder, Smart, Zeller, Johnson, BKN 2018 pick and anorher non BKN pick for Cousins, Gay and McLemore.

Lineup - Cousins, Horford, Gay, AB, IT
Bench - Olynyk, Jerebko, Brown, McLemore, Rozier

Also, I think they would have cap room to get Hayward in 2017 free agency.

Lineup -

Jaylen should be as close to untradable as it gets.

This certainly isn't going to help him. Jared is on a cheap one year make good deal, he could be out of the league next year.

Celtics really dodged it there, huh?

Tough break for Sullinger. Don't wish bad on anyone. On a side note can't overstate how happy I am that Sullinger is no longer the Celtics problem.

I seriously doubt it. I've watched the pre season games and the effect of having Durant on that team means one of the 4 is consistently open. From what I saw, that person was Klay. Of all their players I think he benefits most and he'll have a career year. People seem to think that the big four will be sacrificing numbers. That's not how this will work. They'll all still get numbers it's just that they'll score another 15-20 points a game as a team. I'm expecting 120-130 ppg. It's easily the best offensive talent ever assembled together. Why leave that situation? Maybe eventually the salary cap will force a breakup but Durant and Green seem most likely to bounce in that case.

Thanks ddb.

I've been saying that all those Stars will not all get the minutes that they want.
The whole Durant move to Golden State is IMO, Subtraction by Addition.

Would love to have Klay Thompson here, though.
