Re: Trade Ideas, Speculation and Discussion
If Len continues to struggle I could really see us doing a Knight/Len for Vucevic. I think the Magic need some scoring in the backcourt even with Fournier. I called the Kieff to Wizards trade before the season started last year and I'm calling Knight to Magic this year.

Re: Trade Ideas, Speculation and Discussion
I think it would be a huge mistake to do anything involving Noel. Between his limited game, reported contract demands, and bad knees, it's the kind of move you look back on for years and question the sanity of everyone involved in making it happen. Not that it would be my first choice but it would be better to just cut Len and buy out Knight than use either player in a Noel trade IMO.

Re: Trade Ideas, Speculation and Discussion
I liked Len's activity vs. the Lakers. Even if he isn't particularly efficient, he is still a true interior threat, which is a nice weapon to have. Since I pounced on him for not going after locks, he's been much more aggressive going after shooters, and if that continues into the regular season, the block numbers should improve.
There just aren't that many guys with Len's physical attributes in the league. If he continues to be aggressive, I wouldn't be shocked by someone giving him a $15 mil per offer sheet next summer.
... I still called him a bust, because I think it's reasonable to expect he would have better touch inside, and there were at least two centers taken after him who are clearly better players (Adams and Gobert). Noel, I'm just not sure about. I'd be interested in him primarily for his steal numbers - his active hands are very useful defending a P&R. But the injuries, lack of size and inability to handle passes are concerning, and I'm not so sure that Noel > Len for those reasons. There is a solid argument that Dieng is better than Alex as well, but at this point, I wouldn't make that trade straight up, either.
The talk of trading Alex for another "real" C -- there just aren't very many in the league. I'm happy to keep moving forward with Alex at this point. You can see he's already improved his jumper from last season, and the block rate should go up this season as well. It's just hard to watch him play against Gobert - that guy is too good.

It's not just Jones vs Jenkins tho. There are several interesting players who were waived last week (or will be waived today/tomorrow), who could possibly be added to the Suns as our 15th man.
Jordan Adams
DJ Stephens
JaKarr Sampson
Wayne Selden
Chris Johnson
John Holland
Axel Toupane
Jarrod Uthoff
Patricio Garino
Ben Bentil
James Young or RJ Hunter
Kyle Wiltjer ?
BTW, the infallible San Antonio Spurs just waived Livio Jean-Charles, their 2013 1st round pick whom they signed this summer to a rookie contract. He's turrible.
Is Jarrod Uthoff or Bentil really going to be waived? Those guys have legit NBA talent imho.

You'd give up Bender and Warren AND a pick along with Knight for 2 years of Cousins? Come on, Frank.

It's funny I read more team forums as of late and just about every fan base talks about what they feel are legit potential trades for Cousins.

They both were already waived but it's possible someone else will claim them off waivers.

Sounded like Bentil was chucking up a shot every time he touched the ball. Didn't work within the team's offense or something.

Besides hoping for a Noel trade I think the Magic make the most sense for Knight, but I would much rather just get Biyombo. Not really a fan of Vooch.

Re: Trade Ideas, Speculation and Discussion
It is strange to say, because I can't recall ever having this opinion about a team, but I would like to see a season with no trades. If we dealt Archie for an orange, I would consider that to be the same as trading no one. I would hope to get a future second out of the deal, but if the Celts can't get a future second for RJ Hunter, I don't expect we'll get one for Archie, though he's arguably shown more. RJ's shooting is a legit NBA skill.
Man, the Celtics sure have whiffed on a lot of first rounders. Rozier and Brown look legit, however. Two more years of free lotto picks for them. Wow.
We may have a solid array of young talent, but with the Wolves and the Sixers, and the Celtics sucking Brooklyn dry, our competition is already stacking up. Nugs and Lakers are likely to be in that mix as well. If Embiid stays healthy, watch out!

The Celtics just had to cut a bunch of their draftees because they have so much talent worth keeping on their roster and drafted like 7 or 8 picks. That's when having too many draft picks can be a bad thing. They tried to consolidate into a trade but they probably should have dealt a few for future picks in different future drafts.

Furthermore, Imo, We don't need to add any cast off potentials. They aren't needle movers. Half our roster is made up of maybes as is.
Look at McDs blueprint he outlined prior to his first attempt at a rebuild. I have to think it's still in effect.... Sign or trade for a significant star, one who will be a first or second option. Now look around the league. I can't think of any possible acquisition outside of DMC that fits the bill. Cousins will have the leverage to demand a trade and as Sactown continues to plod on towards mediocrity, he will have the desire to get out. It won't be a money issue as he'll get the max offer from several teams if free agency is his path. It's up to McD to position us for a trade in the upcoming months, and get him here before the all out bid war begins.
Writing is being wrote on the wall in Cowbell land, and it says get max value for DMC before they get left with nothing.

Bledsoe, Booker, Dudley, Chris, and Boogie is a team I could get excited about. We, d even have a viable bench as well with Ulis, Barbs, Tuck, Chandler, Len(?) etc.
This is a great opportunity to bring a big buzz back to Phnx and vaults us into consideration to actually compete this year.
Other than that, might as well play out the year chugging along at tank speed
NO BENDER
NO WARREN

Look, im all aboard the no trading Bender/Warren trade, but to not trade them for Cousins is crazy. Id do that in a heartbeat.
A HEARTBEAT!
Seriously, he is the best C in the league.

Kerssed, Bender is the next Dirk. You have to watch what you say around Suns fans! I'd trade both for Cousins honestly. I love me some TJ Warren, too. But DMC is the best big man in the league.

I know I sposed to be a Suns fan and all but I would LOVE to see DMC with an actual NBA coach. If Joerger doesn't work out this year I hope he ends up under Carlisle.

Having Cousins on the Suns would be nice and all, but I don't see that Suns team being much better than the current Kings and he'd probably be on the last year of his deal. If I was Boogie I'd leave to Boston, or the Spurs if they could clear the capspace.

Not much better than the Kings?!?!?!?
Cmon!
Bledsoe>>>>>>>Collison
Knight>>>>>>>Lawson ....hell, Knight>>>>>>>>Collison!
Booker>>>>>>Any SG on their roster
Warren/Tucker/Bender===Gay/Casspi (I might give Sac the edge here, but many HATE gay)
Dudley/Chriss>>>>Toliver/Labissiere
Now comparing what we would have after a DMC trade to what they have now:
Bledsoe/Booker/Tucker/Chriss/DMC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Collison/McLemore/Gay/Toliver/DMC (even more-so if Gay is on his way out like reports suggest).

Re: Trade Ideas, Speculation and Discussion
Cousins is a great player, but I don't want another thug on the team, and I don't think that trade is enough to net him anyway. MAYBE something like Booker, Chriss and Len would, and most non Suns fans would say THAT'S not enough to get Boogie. Other teams would offer better stuff than Knight, Len, Warren and Bender.

I would be fine with this. Maybe Archie and a pick for a better pick.
