Season Expectations
So, after a long offseason, just figured I'd get a pulse of what people think will happen or would set as a realistic bar for success. Personally I'm looking forward to the season, thinking 46-50 wins and a solid playoff showing (1st/2nd round) would be pretty good by me. I don't see missing the playoffs barring a big injury or how they'd win much less. I think the offense should be fine, defensively the bench may struggle a bit, but once rotations are down it should be a solid season. Donovan played around a lot w/ rotations last year which cost quite a few wins, so thinking a drop from last year, when they had 59 pythag wins to about 10 or so less is pretty on point.
Poll aboard.

Re: Season Expectations
Same, solid season and a playoff showing. Donovan's probably going to mess with rotations a bunch again, so I might be a bit optimistic on wins. Plus I think there's at least one big move coming, either this offseason or near the deadline, so chemistry might need to be worked out.

Re: Season Expectations
44-48 wins, going 46-50 via poll with a 2nd round exit. I expect you guys to have a lot of competition this year in the Northwest with the rise of Utah and Minnesota, and with the fact that your roster might be a mirror of Portland's. Any Westbrook injury would be catastrophic and a slump from him can cause the division title to be up for grabs. Look for an up and down season rollercoaster of a season with one of the most volatile and electrifying players in the league leading the way.

around 45W, 6-8th in the West, probably matching up with LA or SA in the 1st round, maybe pushing it to 7.

We're gonna win it all.

Re: Season Expectations
I expect a 2006-2007 Utah Jazz style success with 51 wins, 1st in division and Conference Finals exit.
They did those with a guy with absolutely no 3-pt and defense at PF (Boozer) and a guy with no 3-pt shot and 8pt/game (Kirilenko) at SF. Their SG were Ronnie Brewer, CJ Miles and Gordan Giricek & corpse of Derek Fisher.
I don't believe OKC's current roster is any worse than 2006 Jazz.

Re: Season Expectations
I jst want to make the playoffs and prove to the free agent class that we can be a legitimate title contender if one of the bigger names comes here.

56+
I think the Thunder come out better than they were last year. Durant is a very good player, but you can build a better team around Westbrook and I think that's what Donovan will do. Last year was his first with OKC and they were much better in the playoffs than the regular season - I see that as improvement over time and now with another offseason, I think they will improve again.

Re: Season Expectations
I'm going to set the over/under at 45 wins. I'm taking 46 wins and a 2nd round exit. My prediction.
How do you guys feel about moving Morrow to a team desperate for 3 point shooting for a young prospect? Maybe packaging him with McGary to try and get some value out of him?

First round exit is my prediction. I promised myself not to be too upset if we don't make the playoffs which is a possibility.

Re: Season Expectations
Seems like most were realistic about what the team was heading into the season. If they let enough players walk to stay under the tax this off-season without going into a complete rebuild we'll see how many are realistic about next year when they would miss the playoffs.

How many good players are on the team? Unless you think Vic/Adams/Russ force themselves out how does this team get worse?

Roberson could leave as a FA and is 3rd on the team in RPM. Taj won't be retained, which makes the team worse than it is today. If Russ demands a designated player contract then at least one of Dipo or Adams is gone.

Re: Season Expectations
I still believe they can win 16 out of the remaining 19 and hit 51 wins.
