I liked Robinson also, but not enough to keep him over filling a position of need... The wheels on the Young train are bound to fall off eventually too... So that's another possible wasted spot...
I think the deal is MWP wants to play a couple more years... They wanted him as a coach but it was either keep him on the roster or lose him to China or another NBA team so this way they keep him in the fold. I think it's less about playing time and more about his experience he can share. Obviously he's doing something in practice that they didn't want to lose

yeah MWP would rather bolt than retire... he's steadfast in making 20 years his goal.
He's basically a coach, but worst case scenario he's not a bad guy to have to bring in, he might be a decent small ball center actually, and I'm not losing sleep over cutting anybody we did to keep him.

If mwp does nothing but tell stories of Kobe Bryant's work ethic to the youngin's it will be worth it

"Ingram! , why you here at 6am! When Kobe was your age, he already hit a 1000 jump shots, got a massage, and was in the middle of his 2nd workout at 6am!!! This is the big time kid!!!"

"I like tellin Kobe stories so much, I'm gonna change my name to Kobes stories!"
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

prolong projects are a great idea, when you draft young, but Brown was drafted as a senior, and was supposed to be able to come in contribute right away or in the near future. They gave him a whole year to show his stuff, and obviously Walton wasn't a fan.

Would of liked to see anthony brown over MWP. Not sure why we kept a guy that has no value as a player. He can't shoot threes, he has no offensive game, and he's not the defensive stud he use to be.

why are we keeping Metta's corpse and releasing Brown?

Makes absolutely no sense

Because Metta wants to play a couple more years and don't want to be a part of coaching staff yet. I think the only way to keep him is to keep him in the line up. Meanwhile during the preseason, Brown failed to prove that he is a legit shooter to be a 3&D player in the NBA. I think there is something that Metta brings in this team outside of playing basketball. Maybe his locker room presence? or toughness and work ethic? I honestly don't know but definitely there is something in him that the FO / coaching staff sees that we don't see.

This makes sense to me. It's obvious that Brown isn't going to make it in the league. Yi is intriguing for some reason to me, a ton of natural talent and size but when the drive is missing you get his career.

well i guess metta brings leadership even though he's a complete scrub playing wise nowadays. Either way hope Brown at least gets signed to the d-fenders or something.

MWP shot 31% from three with a per of 8.3 and was better at D for spurts that AB over 35 games
AB shot 28% from three with a per of 4.9 over 29 games

MWP outplayed AB who is 24 doesn't seem to be blossoming and cannot add half of the intangibles MWP can. Also MWP elbows Harden muuuch better.
