I mean Colbini's time was obviously up and I sent commish the pick list and it wasn't made for some reason so don't blame me for stalling this thing. Not that I blame FadeawayJ for anything, thanks for putting in all your hard work to commish this.

Happy to get a versatile winning big man in last round to really solidify my team. Give me Robert Horry

Going with Jamal Tinsley to nicely round out my bench.

Not necessarily the most ideal fit, but I have FGAs left and I need some talent.

So I don't really follow these threads or pretend to know the ins and outs of it all, but can someone explain the rational for a guy like Chris Webber going unpicked behind someone like Taj Gibson? Was there some sort of budget I'm missing? Not knocking. Just trying to understand.

Each team is only allowed a certain number of FGAs. Webber shot a lot so a role player like Gibson can be more valuable as you build out a whole roster. I wanted to try to get Webber in this draft but once I took TMac there was no way I could fit Webber also and build a full well-rounded team.

Okay, that makes more sense.

What would be the top 8 undrafted players? I said top 8 because that's how many players each team has.

In no particular order:

Allen Iverson
Chris Webber
Carmelo Anthony
Gilbert Arenas
Carlos Boozer
Baron Davis
Joe Johnson
Josh Smith

Then there also guys like David West, Zach Randolph, Stephon Marbury, Andre Miller, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, a lot of talented players left.

Josh Smith?? really?

Not thinking about FGAs or positions or in particular order:

DeMarcus Cousins
Allen Iverson
Carmelo Anthony
Carlos Boozer
Gilbert Arenas
Derrick Rose
Chris Webber
Charles Barkley or Hakeem still had a really good year available

Richard Jefferson was a guy I looked very hard at that I think should have been drafted but Peja was available for me. He was really good in NJ on only 12.9 FGA in 2005-06

I personally think Iverson should have been drafted. I would have taken him pretty early but I had TMac and can't pair them together.

The problem with Iverson or Rose is you have to build your offense around them, and there are better options at this level. Iverson's FGAs are very high in his best years as well.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

And you have to cover for them a lot at the defensive end. Not worth the hassle.

Yes, he was good as a Hawk. Rose certainly belongs ahead of him on the list, I forgot about him. Cousins is a good mention, too.

How about the Dream Team?

Robinson
Malone
Pippen
Jordan
Stockton

Ewing
Barkley
Mullin
Laettner(?)

FGAs would be a problem, and the way the draft fell you could only get two of DRob, Malone, and Stockton. Stockton was still good, but I'm surprised he went as high as he did at this stage of his career.

It seeems like the Stockton pick will end up costing me in this as people are really low on him. I personally think what made Stockton great was his longevity. His per 36 numbers are the same versus his prime years and still led league in Assist % and ORTG. I thought he'd go 2nd round for sure because of low FGAs.

Prime Chris Webber IMO is the best player not picked.

Best player on a team that won 61 games and took the Lakers to 7 games in the WCF, and remarkably talented. I get why he wasn't picked, but I can't help but feel like there must have been somebody out there who could have made it work.

The TMAC pick is what really cost you, the stockton pick just cemented your fate, despite what I would say was an amazingly good rest of the draft you had.

I really disagree on TMAC. His peak is one of the best out there. It is high FGAs but he had a peak considered better than Kobe by a lot people. I would definitely take TMAC again.

Spacing and defense, particularly rim protection, are highly (over?) valued here. I think he's also seem as a stat stuffer with questionable intangibles.
