Kings @ Suns | Oct. 26, 2016 6PM PST

Post#1 » by codydaze » Wed Oct 26, 2016 11:45 pm

Didn't see a game thread yet so I thought I would get the first one of the year started!

Starting lineup I expect to see tonight:
PG: Ty Lawson
SG: Arron Afflalo
SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Willie Cauley-Stein
C: Demarcus Cousins

Here's to hoping we start the year off with a win so we can go into the Golden 1 Center tomorrow night an undefeated team 8-)

What I'm looking for:
- How will the defensive schemes look? Where will we be switching and how are the rotations going to play out? They stressed communication this year so I'm hoping to see Cousins being an anchor defensively and barking out assignments from down low.

- How effective will Demarcus Cousins be facilitating out of the high post?

- Will Ty Lawson be a capable point guard for us this year?

I think Koufos will be on the starting lineup, not WCS

This is what I think too -- given that KK has been starting next to Cousins throughout the entirety of the pre-season.

Anyways, Ty will get the bulk of the minutes at PG, so, he will see a lot of Bledsoe & Knight. It's gonna be a tough one here. On the other hand, I predict Cousins will routinely throw Chandler around all night long -- as he usually do against him, career-wise.

Should be an interesting game. Not a must win but the Kings need to get off on the right foot and not possibly start the season down 0-2. I think there are no more major in season comebacks out of this core. Once they are down, they'll stay there.

Good morning everyone, it's almost 4:30 AM my time, cannot miss Kings opener.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I don't think we can get away with Temple at PG. I expect a tough game once the bench comes in, but as long as they don't let it get out of control, they should have a good chance to win.

I will be watching our defensive rebounding. I'm worried that it could be a weakness.

It looks like we won't be giving up 30 points in the first quarter. That's a very welcome change.

Of course, as I say that, the Suns put up 4 points in 10 seconds.

They need to clean up the TOs and hit their open shots.

End-of-quarter execution at both ends!?

I like Matt Barnes bringing the ball up every now and then.

Keep it up, you guys! The bench gave the Kings the needed lift to distance themselves from the Suns.

Better communication, tougher screens, sharper cuts. The team has lacked these fundamentals for a long time, and I hope this is sign of those coming back.

Jared Dudley is abusing us off the dribble. This is unacceptable lol.

I'm so sick of watching Kosta miss point-blank gimmes.
