Nashty and Cactus voting: Game 1 vs Kings

Post#1 » by batsmasher » Thu Oct 27, 2016 4:32 am

Since the Suns lost, we encourage you to vote for both the Nashty and Cactus of the game:

A reminder on the scoring system:

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players.

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

3: Chandler - performed pretty well tonight, above expectations
2: Ulis - Spark off the bench, here because I don't like anyone else
1: Booker - poor defense but stayed aggressive.

-3: Knight - no show tonight
-2: Len - part of the bench squad that played 0 defense in the first quarter
-1: TJ - porous defense at best

Alright, the way you posted it looked like a countdown, so I thought I might have it backwards, but to be clear:

+3 Bender - came in, knocked down shots, rotated defensively, even pointing to Chriss where to go, 10 pts with a couple of boards and a steal in 12 min..nice rookie debut.

+2 Booker - didn't think he'd even make top 3 early, with all the misses (esp FTs), turnovers, etc, but he turned it around..turnovers still too much

+1 Warren beats out Chriss because although Chriss looked good at times, way too many turnovers. Warren, despite not shooting well was super aggressive with steals and boards, and despite not shooting well, took care of the ball even though he got a lot of touches.

Cactus

-3 Knight
-2 Tucker
-1 Barbosa

3: Bledsoe - Was trying to get everyone involved.
2: Booker - Still provided decently when he was on the court
1: Chriss - A couple of highlight plays get everyone going

-3: Knight - Bleh. Piss-Poor game. Piss-Fn-Poor.
-2: Len - Couldnt defend anyone, but what else is new.
-1: Warren - New Dictatorship says i cant put Knight a 2nd time here, so TJ with a -14 (+/-)

2: Booker - Played well when he was on the floor and not getting bs calls against him
1: Dudley - Made veteran glue guy moves, missed a lot of open shots but took good ones and passed well

-3: Knight - trash
-2: Len - trash
-1: TJ - step behind on defense every play,

Just an FYI to everyone, the vote won't count unless it's in the required format. BK was bad, but not bad enough to change the rules for voting :P.

2. Warren. He was trying all game.
1. Booker. Not his best game, but the rest were worse.

-3. Knight
-2. Len
-1. Bledsoe

3-bender
2-tyler
1-booker

Cacti
1- PJ
2- knight
3- barbosa

Knight and barbosa killed team ball and couldn't hit shots, PJ looked slow. Think PJ only back to keep up his streak.

Edit: good idea for a thread

3: Dudley -> really solid vet, just dont shoot too much long 2's, ok?
2: Ulis -> this guy is amazing, can be a great spark for our 2nd unit
1: Bender -> unbelievable solid all-around player with 18yo. We need to play him for his strengths but he still made the most of his opportunities tonight.

-3: Knight -> just trash! made some nice passes but he's destroying our team thinking he can be a initiator.
-2: Len -> another trash but let's just kill whoever made his post moves available.
-1: Tucker -> flat out shape and looked very out of sync with the rest of the team. sparked the gigantic run from them

3: Ulis completely turned the game around with his effort, energy, and defense
2: Bender came in and did great
1: Chriss had some awesome plays in the second half

-3: Bledsoe by far. When he is in the game, the offense is slow, boring, and stagnant. Third year in a row he will lead this team nowhere.
-2: Len could not be a bigger disappointment imo right now.
-1: Barbosa. -15 in only 3 minutes. Enough said.

3: Bender - Dusted off his preseason jitters and in his first official NBA game, showcased his skills to prove why he was a top 5 pick.
2: Ulis - Great spark off the bench and just played within himself as Coach Earl probably told him to do "Just do what Tyler Ulis does best"
1: Chriss - Got posterized in the first quarter in his first NBA game, didn't let it bother him and continued doing Chriss things with no fear or hesitation.

3: Knight - Didn't even look worthy of being a bench player
2: Len - Watching him is just frustrating, 95% of the time looks indecisive and nervous with no concept or feel for the game
1: TJ - liability on defense

+3 Bender: Good debut, came in ready to play hard on both ends, his shot falling for him had to be a confidence booster too.

+2 Ulis: Played the toughest defense of anyone tonight despite being the smallest guy on the court. Offense looked a lot better when it was him running it instead of the Knightmare dribbling the air out of the ball at the top of the key.

+1 Bledsoe: It was between him and Booker for having disappointing-but-better-than-others games, but I felt like Booker was too sloppy tonight and shot too poorly to reward him here.

-1 Len: Just bad. 4th year in the league and he's still trying to do stuff outside of his skill set on offense and dribbling the ball off his feet. Couple that with terrible pick and roll defense, bad help side rotations where he completely overcommits and lets his man get easy buckets, and an overall lack of defensive presence in the paint and you get a negative. He's just lucky other guys somehow played worse.

-2 Barbosa: How is it even possible to pick up 2 fouls and have -15 on the box score in 3 minutes played? The minute LB and Knightmare came in, all offensive flow was killed and the defense went to nil. It's one game and 3 minutes, but I just get the feeling he's on his last leg, give any minutes we planned for LB to Ulis.

-3 Knight: Terrible shot selection, dribbling the air out of the ball at the top of the key before dumping it to people who aren't on the court to create their own shot, trying to run the point with Ulis on the floor despite being basketball dyslexic, and shooting a magnificent 12% from the field. Just an overall bad, bad game from Knight.

I think you're confusing Bledsoe and Knight on the court
