Not a bad first game but a lot of room for improvement for Embiid

Pros:
Looked very fluid and mobile out there
Good free throw shooting
Nice touch around the basket, quick feet

Cons
6-16 shooting... How did he even manage to hoist up 16 shots in 22 minutes?
4 fouls and 4 turnovers in 22 minutes
Didn't play a good defense on Adams

Embiid got a SWEET jumper. That's what I like most about this guy, he seemingly picks up perfect form on everything he does with no effort. Think how long it took Lebron to get something resembling a jumper. Dwight still doesn't have a legit postgame. Embiid seemingly just understands it right away and puts it to work. That is talent. His jumper looks like perfect for Ray Allen.

his footwork is elite for a big but he needs to shed another 10lbs to reach his max fluidity imo awsome debut tho

I'm a Wolves fan first and foremost, so KAT is my dude.

There's one thing this guy has over kAT that may put him over KAT: he's a better physical speciman. Bigger, stronger, just as fast, maybe more agile. Amazing.

KAT is def more of a sure thing right now tho.

Embiid was getting MVP chants in his first game. I wonder if any player in NBA history ever got MVP chants in his first game lol.

I thought Embiid looked and moved great, but obviously showed some signs of playing his first competitive game in a few years.

He was overexcited and despite playing only 22 minutes, he had 4 turnovers, 4 fouls and a USG rate of 47.1%. I think he is forcing a bit because he knows he is on a minutes restriction and is trying to get his.

Regardless, I was shocked at how fluid he looked in the post against Adams in the fourth and his confidence is awesome to see in a young player.

KAT is obviously phenomenal and not to throw shade at him by any means but Okafor had his way vs him last season. KAT is definitely gonna have his hands full with Embiid. vice versa obviously as well.

I think that it's more the sixers forcing it through him than Embiid.

They want him getting as much development as possible in his limited minutes. If he's only playing 20 mins, they need him touching the ball and working as hard as possible

Lots of room for improvement. He showed flashes of elite rim protection ability. Adams benefitted on some of his rookie errors like going to double westbrook and leaving Adams open under the basket. Played good D outside of that

Cant complain about his shooting either. He generated his buckets with his skillset. He doesn't look like one of those bigmen who are content to silently put up big numbers. Every minute he was out there he looked to make something happen. Signs of a guy that won't shrink in the playoffs. 6-16 shooting also included 1-3 from 3pt, several midrange shots and 7-8 from the line. Just stay healthy

That is completely fine, you have Embiid out there and literally, 4 scrubs (Okafor plays with the second unit) at all times. When the sixers bring the ball up the court, they need to feed Embiid every single time.

Last night, down the stretch, they didn't do that, especially since Embiid was in supreme confidence mode against Kanter and Adams. Sixers lost the game because they didn't feed their big man.

Watching Embiid last night (while flipping channels to watch the Pistons & Drummond), I'm convinced Embiid is ALREADY one of the best centers in the league: not even talking about "He has a post game doe and Player X doesn't". YES, he has to continue to work on his game, but he already has such a unique feel for the game that can't just be taught. The sky is legitimately the limit for him, and I'm just happy to see he's finally getting the respect that he deserves.

He showed the Hakeem type moves at Kansas, but this is just one game. We saw the Dream somewhat like fade away at the free throw line. It'll take time, but he will start to out finesse the stronger opponents.

I've been waiting 2 years for this guy. Glad he is finally here. I was a huge Dream fan, so it is exciting to see Embiid. I do agree that he should lose some weight to bring back some fluidity. As he gets more games under his belt and the feel returns, I think he will start to incorporate the pump fakes and counters.

The thing about Embiid he hasn't had a offseason to really work on his game. Most of it is rehab. We won't see how great he will be until next year.

KAT is ahead of him developmentally, and doesn't have the injury cloud. For those two reasons alone, KAT is the safer bet as a long term prospect.

However, I don think KAT is really a center. He is a 4, that can play some 5, but I would want him at the 4 long term. Embiid is MUCH bigger, as in 4-5 inches of reach bigger, and he is just as fast as KAT at the same time.

I think that KAT and AD will compete for who the premier 4 is in the league, and Embiid is in a different category.

Embiid is still rusty from the long layoff. I have watched every minute that he has played in the preseason up to now, and he is getting better mentally, and physically.

I'm not sure if he is going to average 20-10 this year due to the rust, and minutes restriction, but I think that from Christmas on he will do it.

He probably won't be an all star this year, but I bet that he will be better than the all star centers by the end of the season.

Just think how much more efficient he would be if he had Simmons out there setting him up. There is a lot of throwing it in to him and letting him work right now, but Simmons will probably get him 4-5 easy buckets a game once he gets back.
