Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I'm actually sort of confused by this post. I thought that you felt that there was no way that he could play the 5.

Are you officially onboard with the idea that he may be able to play the 4?

Last year the team rebounded better with Okafor on the floor then off and once again in the first game of the season the team rebounded better with Okafor on the court rather then off.

I think he can improve his rebounding but the goal isn't to improve his raw counting stats at the expense of his teammates. It's for him to find a way to continue to box out his opponents AND grab more boards.

It'll happen, Okafor has made the adjustment needed to play with Embiid. Not saying he's a power forward, but he's quick enough to do it for a while if needed, or if the matchup presents itself.

Why wouldn't he want to? It has to be tried. If we can prove that Okafor and Embiid work together it would be huge.

I just know the Brett Brown who likes to play super fast, high volume of 3s, primitive small ball defense, prefers perimeter players in drafts and has boring post sets on offense. Maybe it's just me.

we lost a lot of close games last year with Okafor sitting on the bench. i figured that was a FO decision. if we want to win games that are close in the final couple of minutes, we should be playing our best scorers, Okafor and Embiid, if they're available.

Its all bc the min restriction...we'll see big man domination soon enough, but right now, we cannot afford to have them both on the bench together, always need atleast 1 scorer

But again it came from Brett Brown's mouth. Why would he lie? If he doesn't want to play them together he wouldn't have to open his mouth and say it.

We lost close games because the guy with the worst +/- on the team was on the bench?

Okay.

Still cant get over with that stats huh ? Embiid had the fourth worst +/- last night does that mean he had a bad game ?
Also he said we lost close game WITH Okafor sitting on the bench not BECAUSE ……

I don't think Jah should be the one to stay over Noel in a perfect world. But we don't live in a perfect world. Noel seems to want to be gone. Okafor has been a model teammate. I love how unselfish he seems to be and he actually seems to be checking his ego at the door and not making a big stink about coming off the bench. I like that. I had my doubts if he could do that but this guy is the consummate teammate and is willing to do whatever he can to help the team. While I would prefer to have 2 rim protectors in Embiid and Noel it just seems to be wishful thinking at this time and Noel seems to be the one to go as much as I like him. I've said before and I'll say again, I think Okafor can really excel coming off the bench playing 20-25 minutes per night and giving us 12-14 points. His mind seems to be in the right place and his heart as well.

Embiid in one game vs. Okafor over the season but sure. Something something sample size.

And the implication was clear. But the fact is that this team was worse with Okafor on the court than off. Basic, objective, fact.

Embiid did have a bad game by normal standards. He had a good game considering how long he's been out.

Its not him on the court but we asking Okafor to be the core of this team on both sides makes this team worse since it excels his ability. We have too many holes for our core to cover and its Embiids' duty now and with a lesser role Okafor can focus on what he's good at.
