Magic gear in Orlando

Post#1 » by UCFJayBird » Wed Oct 26, 2016 6:30 pm

Anyone seen some decent Magic gear (shirts, hats, etc) at a store in Orlando, preferably near downtown besides the actual Magic store at the arena?

I've visited a few places (Target near the Florida Mall, Target @ SoDo, Academy Sports in Lake Mary) and found practically nothing besides a few kid shirts. I ordered a jersey online but it won't be here until later this week and I'd like to rep the Magic tonight (existing gear no longer fits) and wearing blue isn't enough, lol. :banghead:

Honestly, I can't wait till the NBA dumps adidas for Nike. Adidas clothing design is awful. I recently went to the team store and couldn't find one thing I wanted to purchase.

Orlando City has outdone the NBA/Magic in less than three years. Adidas does much better with the soccer gear (though sizing runs small). The magic could really use an update to the branding to make it more appealing.

There's just not a lot of places locally to purchase Magic gear outside the official team shop, Finish Line, Foot Locker, etc. Makes me mad.

Maybe give the players some gear at half time to keep the energy up for the 3rd quarter!

The Lids Locker Room in Altamonte Mall has had a few things in when I've visited. The Team Store is the place to go though. Take a look at the retail concessions inside the arena before buying from the store as they can have different stuff.

The team store is honestly your best bet. There's no where you can really go where you'll find cheap gear either.

Keep an eye on the Black Friday sale coming up next month though. That's the only time I buy any gear.

Was going to try and swing into the team store right before the game but the line was out the door 10 minutes into the game. Ended up just wearing some normal clothes and throwing on the free shirt when I got to my seat, lol. I remember just last season I went to Academy Sports in Lake Mary and there were a ton of Magic hats and shirts. Fast forward a few months and nothing. I remember there used to be shirts at the local Targets. So I was quite surprised when I went to multiple stores and found nothing more than a kid shirt or two. I guess the merchandise is just in such low demand right now the stores don't feel it's worth stocking.

My jersey arrives today via FedEx so i'll have it for the next game.

I remember there used to be Sports Dominator on idrive with that big football player statue outside. Wide range of very old, fusty sports stuff - long gone now though.

Yeah they turned that thing into the whirladome or something a few years back. Looked like another sad place for Brits to drink on vacation.
