I don't know if Westbrook can maintain this level of output over the whole season without breaking down. He has to work so hard to get the victory for OKC against some bad teams so far.

Why the hell are okc running isos for Russ over and over? There are much better ways to use him.

Re: 10/28 | Friday Game Thread
Donovan is coaching horribly right now. Westbrook isos over and over...he's not a good enough shooter for that to be smart. What the heck happened to all that innovation from the playoffs?

On 40 shots and in OT at home to PHX.
OKC are a bad team and will miss the playoffs.

Going to be interested to see how the shooting works for OKC this season. I'm not sure they have enough reliable shooters

if okc can't beat phx at home.... they won't make the playoffs.... theyll have to face the likes of GS, spurs, clips, utah, portland, dallas

Singler is a bad NBA player and Presti inexplicably gave him a five year deal. I know he still has 3 more years left (not including this one), but you may have to just cut the dude.

Griffin has "bad" playoff series that are better than Millsap's best playoff performance as a Hawk. Compare Griffin vs Millsap in the post-season when Griffin isn't sitting out and there's really no argument for Millsap.yoyoboy wrote:og15 wrote:Millsap is seperated from the top players when you examine his post-season performances, but even in the regular season, I think you are underestimating how many players are in competition for the top 10 spots. Lebron, Durant, Curry, Leonard, Paul, Westbrook, Davis, George, Griffin, Harden. That's already 10 players right there, so I don't know about top 10, there's also guys like Cousins, Lillard, etc, etc
Eh...I wouldn't put Griffin ahead of Millsap.
Griffin's 27 playoff games in 13-14 and 14-15 per 36:
23.1 pts / 9.5 rebs / 4.7 ast / 2.6 tov / 1.0 stl / 1.0 blk / 55.5 TS% / 113 Ortg
Millsap's 33 playoff games with Atlanta the past three seasons per 36:
16.4 pts / 9.3 rebs / 3.1 ast / 2.4 tov / 1.4 stl / 1.5 blk / 51.3 TS% / 103 Ortg
You can even look at Griffin in the stretches where Paul has been injured and consider both team success and his performance. Of course the argument and only argument would be that Millsap is a superior defender, but Griffin is not a bad defender and Griffin is a superior offensive player and much better as a primary option.
I'm not talking who I'd rather have in the playoffs. You were referring to regular season performance only, and even when Griffin is healthy, he hasn't been as good as Millsap there.
RPM, RAPM, WS/48, and BPM all give Millsap considerable edges over Griffin that can't be ignored. Griffin has a slight edge in PER, but PER is known to overrate volume scoring and not value defense as much as it should, which works heavily in Blake'a favor. And Millsap has those statistical edges largely because he's simply a much more impactful defender. I think you undervalue the disparity between the two on that end. Millsap was a legit top 5 defender last year. And he's been the first option and best player on 60-win and 48-win Hawks teams these past 2 years. Atlanta would fall apart without him. On the flip side, Blake is a clear step below Paul on the Clippers and they haven't missed as much of a beat in the RS as you'd expect without him on the floor. The Clippers won 53 games last season and were on pace for 51 with Griffin healthy. Just something to take into consideration.
I'd listen to an argument that Blake is the more talented player, but simply speaking on who's better...I immediately look to impact and actual production. And in that case, Millsap takes the cake for me no doubt. At least in the regular season.
