What a game from Cousins...

37 points on 22 shots, only 3 TOs...I would really like to see him become the true MVP candidate he could be, not sure that can happen in Sacramento

Nope...no playoffs for the kings this year. Cousins is a career loser and that trend will continue this season.

Don't forget the 20 foul shots. His TS for that game was 48.3%. That is some epic chucking

Dion Waiters actually started for the Heat, taking 16 shots to score 13 points. Riley must be going into tank mode already.

I have plenty of evidence...cousins record in the playoffs is 0-0. He's in year 7 of his career.

All that shows is that he can't win by himself in situations that most HOFers would have lost in. He was the second best player in the Olympic championship game.

If that's your evidence, then this player sucked. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/garneke01.html

By his seventh season, Kevin Garnett was 0-6 in playoff series. His team was 5-18 in playoff games.

Same example I thought of, and I'll bet there are a few examples that show the weakness of that narrow approach. I'm not the Cousins fan you are CCJ, but the Kings' failures can't be laid at his feet, considering all the other problems they've had over the years and continuing to the present.

I'm not blind to Cousins' weaknesses and his outbursts.

I just like to harp on Cousins because of how much irrational hate the guy gets from certain posters.

Looks like my prediction is looking pretty good so far. We'll see if I continue to be right.

Small sample size theater alert. The Kings are 2-4 but under Joerger Gay and Cousins are posting the best numbers of their career.

Not a lot of talent on that Kings roster, but he seems to be getting great production out of his two best players.

yea but cousins/gay's "best numbers" are a small sample size, too.

And I'd say that not a good sign when your best players are playing at high level, and you still can't win. At least we know with the Wizards that when Beal and Wall are on, the team is pretty tough to beat.

Hilarious comments on Demarcus Cousins from several NBA executives:

The Sacramento Kings are off to another lousy start, another start that makes the playoffs seem like a pipe dream — again.

So is this the season they finally trade All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins?

“I’d say it’s 50-50,” said one Western Conference executive. “If not, it’s not necessarily because they want to keep him.”

Instead, several team executives and general managers told Amico Hoops the Kings are only holding on to Cousins because they have no other choice.

“They’ll never get what they want in return,” said an East GM. “They think Cousins is worth more than he actually is. He hurts you every bit as much as he helps you. He’s like a cheeseburger, or booze. Too much and you’ll pay a price.”

A third team executive told Amico Hoops that Kings GM Vlade Divac and owner Vivek Ranadive have indeed explored moving Cousins, albeit in a “passive-aggressive” and “secretive” manner.

“They try to act like they would never ever trade him, but why not?” one GM said. “That team stinks. They have since (Cousins) got there.”

That GM later added, “the only good things Ranadive has done was to buy the team and keep it from moving to Seattle, and get those Kings bloggers in his backpocket. I’m convinced he pays some of them.”

When asked if he would want Cousins, the GM responded, “I’d be terrified with that guy on my team. They’ve asked me about him, what I’d give up. The answer is not much, no one that I value.”

The West team executive answered: “I’d take (Cousins), but you’d need a dominant personality to control him. I’ve been in that locker room. He’s a problem. They’d love to trade him, but can’t. So they act like they won’t. They would, though– tomorrow.”

Cousins, 26, is 6-foot-11 and in his seventh NBA season, all with the Kings. He has compiled career averages 20.3 points and 10.7 rebounds.

The Kings were 2-5 heading in to Sunday’s game at Toronto.

Another big is putting up Cousins-like numbers while coming off the bench for the first time. The Bucks did their best to try to trade Greg Monroe and are probably feeling good about not being successful there. Off the bench, he's their second best player (next to Giannis). He's got a PER over 25. Per 40 minutes, he's averaging 20.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.3 blocks. Granted, his shooting percent is the lowest of his career at 45%, but he's getting to the line about 7 times per 40.

A lot of teams lack an offensive force off the bench (cough*wizards*cough), so having someone like Monroe in that role is looking to be a great way to turn him into a competitive advantage.
