I wonder if VC actually decides to do the dunk contest one last time would convince Andrew to battle his idol.

Wiggins, Gordon, LaVine, Carter. I think the viewership for that would do pretty well.

I agree with Fratello. Wiggins is special. Sky is the limit for him

Wiggins improves his game every year.
He is the best player of the team and the player with the highest ceiling.
I do not doubt about him and I do not doubt about the team.
The talent is there, we will find the way to win.

His handle looks to be a lot tighter so far this year using 3-4 dribbles to get a shot instead of 1-2 dribbles max. Keep working to become an effective scorer then work on adding the playmaker.

What's the deal with the NBA scorekeepers not crediting Wiggins with assists? He had a couple last night, but they were not in the boxscore.

Im the only one shocked by the inability to pass from Wiggins? He has 6 assits in 5 games, one each 27 minutes.
He is currently 38th among SF in Assist per 36, behind the likes of Wesley Johnson, Luke Babbitt, Jaylen Brown, Tomas Satoransky.

Is he aware of the attention that teams are putting into him everytime he drives or post?

Is passing from double teams and rotations something he worked on summer?

Is Thibs asking him to shoot every time?

I can forgive poor execution in young players, but poor awareness is harder to pass, specially when you will demand a max contract in one year or so.

One thing I remember about Karl Malone that he was not a good passer at the beginning of his career in Utah. However in heavy PnR offense with the talented teammates such as Stockton he became a good passer. Simply because he ran same sets for years. He knew where ball is going, how teammates should move. I mean that is not only pure passing skills. It about learning teammates strengths, offensive schemes and simply getting more experienced player. Guys like Rubio, Batum and LeBron are exception not a rule

I just read this article that ranks the 53 best franchise players
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-53-best-franchise-players-in-the-nba-2016-17-edition/

Andrew Wiggins is 53th while Valentine is 41th, Marcus Smart 25th, Aaron Gordon 20th and Gorgui Dieng 49th.
This seems a little bit crazy to me.
I also do not agree at all with his ranking in nba 2k17 where his rating is 82 which is very low for Wiggins.
Furthermore, I observe that this is a general opinion and this is what fans believe about Wiggins. I read some forums and a lot of people underestimate him.

So, what is your opinion? Do you agree with me that he is underestimated and if yes why do you believe that this happens ?

Lists like that just show how far advanced stats still have to go to reasonably capture reality.

This is a positive, remember that this is the same site (maybe same author) that went into detail that Wiggins would have a tough time hitting his ceiling of james posey.

So having him among the top 100 franchise must have been guy wrenching.

They also go on to take another shot at him (and lavine) by mentioning that Ingrams floor is wiggins (DLOs floor is Lavine).

If anything it shows their ability to change their opinion based on new information, which is extremely important. I don't think their ranking is especially egregious, there are a few that I disagree with but I understand that Wiggins just hasn't been a good player so far in his career. Maybe this year is the start of something new, we will see but so far the only noticeable improvement I'm seeing from Wiggins is his three point shot. If he can shoot 35% from 3 this year, that will improve his scoring potential quite a bit but he still has a long ways to go in the other areas of the game.

If he shoots 35% on old volume it will do nothing to his offense. He needs to up his 3PA, and I hope for more than 35%.

Of course. He's taking 3 threes a game right now which is still a bit low but if he takes 3-4 a game and hits them at a 35% clip, that will help quite a bit.

Give a lot of props to Wiggins, his trainers, and Thibs for what he has been doing so far this season. A lot of us expected his usage to go down, but Thibs has put the ball in his hands even more. I've thought his passing the past few games has looked significantly better as well. His handle is much better, and his shot has been amazing so far. Not that we should expect this good of shooting, but Hanlan and the new Spurs shooting coach should get some recognition there. Along with Thibs giving Wiggins that green light to take them. He has had a few hockey assists, passes that lead to teammates getting fouled, a plays where teammates have scored and not been credited the assist(definitely deserves some credit). The ball movement with him on the court is noticeably better lately. Like Jim Pete was saying him and Rubio together on the court against the Lakers was such a boost to the team.
