Yup being guarded by slow PF's

This is why Carlislle is one of the best coaches in the league. He recognizes his players strengths and maximizes them

This thread is mystifying.

11 pages about pre-season stats --- 99% of people never even watched a Mavs pre-season game (I don't blame them). All because Barnes was bad in the finals.

Then when the real games start, who knew, "the guy isn't that bad"... the gymnastics start to happen. Some stay in denial. 10 or 11 pages for pre-season stats. 2 pages for regular season stats. They are just waiting for Barnes to have bad games, to bump this and have their fun, with their "realism". They have their agenda and narrative and they will never change it.

It's a shame that so many people seem to live with so much negativity. Barnes, by all accounts is a good guy, so why so much hatred and people who clearly want to see the guy fail and embarrass himself?

As a Mavs fan, I was shocked with his contract and would have been fine with him being just average. You don't become a better player overnight just because you're paid more. So if he comes back down to 15 points a game with decent percentages, that's fine. The Mavs aren't going anywhere with him if he unlikely became a 20ppg scorer or ended up being a scrub (like he was painted at by the geniuses of pre-season analysis), so it's not that hard to keep things in perspective. You make the playoffs and go nowhere or you miss them and have better chances in the draft.

P.S: ironic that Crowder was brought up in this topic, I guess shooting numbers only matter for some. .278 fg% .244 3pfg% last year in the playoffs.

Locking this up. Further conversation can go in the All-Premature Reactions thread, where it belongs.
