That last play was pretty good considering we had a little over 3 seconds left and Booker had a fairly open shot. I love his manoeuvre in the end to get himself a slither of daylight. That little head fake to freeze Westbrook and that hanging shot which was open was pretty good. Considering the cirumstances, I thought he took a great shot.

He just finished with the wrong hand... especially jumping with both foot, just create so much room for Roberson to recover.
You need to use the rim in your favor.

I think we forget, at least I do, that booker is still learning the game. I expect a lot from him because he showed a lot of poise last year but he is still just a 2nd year player and younger than most players picked in the 2016 draft.

ICYMI on RealGM news:

What’s it like playing against Russell Westbrook?

It’s tough. It’s really tough to slow him down. Obviously he’s one of the best in the league right now and he plays a high energy and high pace so it’s a team thing. I don’t think any great players in the league you can stop them one on one, so it’s a team thing and you have to load up on them down in transition and things like that. The thing is you have to slow up the other guys too, we know Russ will get his but we have to slow down a lot of other guys.

Opening night in OKC:

I’m looking forward to it. The NBA is back and I know the Thunder has some of the best fans in the NBA, played here last year and it was hectic. Those are environments that when I was growing up watching games I wanted to play in.

What’s different for you going into year two of your career?

More comfortable, seeing a lot more things and having been through it. Last year I was thrown in the fire so I got the actual experience on the court. I feel more comfortable this year and I’ll have a larger role this year so I’m ready for it.

Picked as the breakout player in the annual NBA GM survey, what kind of pressure is that?

Good pressure to have. Those are the brains of basketball so for them to predict that, it’s an honor but we’ve only played one game this season so it doesn’t mean anything until I go out there and perform. I’m not worried about it, I’m worried about getting wins and whatever comes with that comes with that.

You struggled against the Thunder last season, was it something they did specifically?

Just bad games. They have good defense and a good team. I think if we just move the ball side to side and don’t let the ball stick, they are good when people go to isolation because they play good team defense. They lost a couple players this year, missing Ibaka. But they are still going to be good.

Bit of a scuffle with DeMarcus Cousins on opening night, as two Kentucky guys, what was that all about?

We are brothers, it’s all love. We are both competitors too and I tried to get through a screen and he pushed me a little bit and I pushed him back, nothing more than that. People will blow it up, we both went to Kentucky but we both talked about it and laughed it off so it’s not a big deal.

Coach Calipari said he might take you in that fight:

Because he knows I’d go in with Tyler (Ulis), we’d go 2-on-1, we wouldn’t fight fair if we are going to fight.

Play the Warriors on Sunday night, also your 20th birthday. Excited for that?

For sure. They are a top team in the league, they have KD this year. Two decades down, turning big 20, I’m excited for it an all my family will be in town. I’m excited for it.

Look at how low he got the ball from Bledsoe... made no difference for him.
What a dagger
