If D'lo averages 3 turnovers this season, I'd be pretty damn happy.
And no point arguing about the offense, it looks good for the most part besides the turnovers. And the turnovers are expected 3 games into the season running a new offense with some new players. If we're getting 20 turnovers a game come February then it's a problem. As of now I can live with it. The main problem is the defense. Till we figure that out, we won't win a ton of games unless we get some hot shooting nights from our scorers.

Possibly. Having said that I never thought Young would start over Clarkson who just received a $50 million contract (combine that with the fact he's supposed to be a piece in the future of the franchise). Obviously Luke doesn't feel the pressure of starting players who are making up the biggest portion of our cap.
Benching Clarkson is not a demotion. It's just a move to provide balance to the roster. Many of us had been calling for this for a while. Kudos to Walton for having the vision, like Pop, to see the importance of first/second unit balance, not sparing a player's hurt feelings.
It's just too bad the FO couldn't give him a competent veteran backcourt defender instead of Williams and Young.

I wouldn't blame the FO for that. There wasn't much to get at a fair price and both Williams and Young are on super cheap contracts right now.

3 would be great. Hell, if he kept it under 4 that would be amazing.
John Stockton, one of the greatest to ever play that position, averaged 2.8 turnovers for his career, and was at or above 3 turnovers per game for 10 out of the first 13 years of his career. 3 would be amazing.
Sorry, that'll be the last I say about that. Just wanted to drill it in for anyone concerned about turnovers.

Williams, clearly, should've never been signed in the first place, and, as it stands, jettisoning him for a peanuts and replacing him with a veteran defender in D-League would be addition by subtraction in my book. Williams is pretty damn useless on this squad.

Russell
Lou
Clarkson
Young
Randle
Line up SHOULD NEVER BE USED AGAIN. EVER. NONE OF THEM CAN PLAY DEFENSE.
That line up cost us the game after we cut it to four and he put that line up in. I know he's experimenting , but come on...
Deng and Mozgov are not worth more than 5 million, but that's already been discussed.
Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Deng
Randle
That needs to be the line up in the 4th. Mozgov can start, but Randle and Deng should finish together. Sadly Randle can't play any defense but Deng should be able to make up for some of his mistakes.
Ingram looks great so far
Clarkson has gotten a lot better , a lot better of creating shots for himself.
Lou needs to be traded to the Pacers for their First Round pick.
Young has improved on defense.
Russell needs to continue to let the game come to him, he and Randle force to many looks and drives. This team is much better than last years, but our defense will make us a 13th-15th seed this year easily.

Agree with much of what you're saying here, but the Pacers have absolutely zero need for Lou Williams. They need him about as much as the Lakers do.

I thought we might shock the world for a second there...and it just went to hell in about 50 seconds. Oh well.
Randle had a good game. Lot's of highlight material from him tonight.
Way too many turnovers, and the weak-side/help defense is just non-existent at this point. All things I expect to be addressed/improved with time. The fact that we're hanging in there should be heartening. 17-points really didn't do the game justice. We were not blown out until the last 3-4 minutes.
That Westbrook character sure knows a thing or two about B-Ball.

The problem is what is the market for Lou Williams anyways? And can we really get for him?

They will come back when Randle has a subpar game for sure. I love Nance and he is a terrific team player but he is the definition of a quality role player. Randle on the other hand has so much more potential. Also I'm starting to hate he is our Draymond talk, he is so much different than him. He has much better offensive ceiling and lesser defensive ceiling compared to Dray, to me Randle will never work as a small-ball 5 and with the new coming talents at the C, that plan wouldnt be ideal for the future anyways. He will be amazing in the pick&roll defense switching everything and helping out from the weakside but he doesn't have the awareness yet. He will get there no worries.

New Orleans could use him. They're so injury depleted I barely know who any of their guards are.
I'd take two second rounders for him even though he'd be worth more than that for New Orleans, as he'd immediately become their second-best player.

I dunno.....personally, I'm a big fan of Randle. That said...It's one game. Just like I caution people against freaking out when guys have a bad game....Randle didn't just win MVP either.
Here's the thing I really like about Randle: At this point, he's very limited. Not alot of range, and he completely relies on his left. Teams know it. But although they know it...the guy is still getting it done. THAT speaks to his speed, and athleticism. Now....just imagine if defenders had to watch for 3-4 possibilities!
But will he ever get there? Griffin worked on his outside shot, but really all he has are a good 3-4 'sweet spots'. Definitely better than nothing....but I wouldn't call Griffin a solid outside shooter. There are alot of 4's that fit into this category. Randle has alot of work ahead of him. He may ultimately end up with those 3-4 spots, but nothing else.....who really knows yet. Hey....even if that's all he gets...it will still make him much more potent than now. I think there is a mountain of upside for the guy. He can be a little careless....a little reckless....and his off the ball defense is unacceptable. I'd like to see those issues corrected most of all. That's just focus. That's not teaching, or repetition...that's just getting your head in the game. Wanting to be the best.
I agree that I see Nance as more of a spark guy. Someone who comes in and lights it up for 15-20 minutes a night. But I welcome him to prove that he's much much more. I personally don't understand the "Randle camps" or the "Nance Camps" with Laker fans. Its really far to early to know with either one.....and why on earth wouldn't everyone root for both of them to be amazing? Imagine a world where we're trading Randle for a top-5 pick and 2-second rounders.....and we don't even care, because Nance is one of the best young PF's in our conference.....or vice-versa. Doesn't that sound like such a better scenario for us all to be rooting for?

At least in the past game, a lot of his turnovers were off fumbles from the roll man, most notably Mozgov.
Speaking of which, this game's breakdown video.

Re: LAKERS @ Oklahoma City/ 10/30/16 - 4PM PT
that breakdown really confirms for me that Russel is creating a ton of open looks for his teammates and this last game everyone simply missed wide open shots at a crazy rate. Think the vid mentions Russell only had really one legit turnover?
What struck me was that the vid mentions that individually players didn't play bad D, they just were using schemes that put then in position to fail, specially that side PnR. He puts the bad defensive performance on the coaching, interesting how it changes going forward or the reason the team was playing defense the way it was.
