Scouting Report: Los Angeles Lakers
"Why the Lakers Struggle Vs Pressure Defense"

Both the Lakers and the Pacers come in having won only 1 game. Both teams have won their one home game this season, and lost their other 2 games on the road. This continues a short road trip for the Los Angeles Lakers and will be the first game of their first back-to-back this season (The second game @ Atlanta). This is just one more test for these young Lakers as they continue to struggle with consistency. Will these young Lakers continue their struggles? Or, can they finally pull together a quality effort both offensively and defensively to come away with a win?... We'll have to tune in and see.

LET'S GO LAKERS!!!

Appreciate the game thread, but a friendly request - can you keep the team record inside the thread and not in the title please? I can't watch night games until after work in the morning the next day and sometimes it's a spoiler if I check the forum

Yeah, no problem. I updated this one, which problem doesn't help you much (sorry about that), but I'll make sure to remember that going forward. You should probably post this in the 2016 "Game Thread Sign-ups" thread tho. Just cause I'm not the only one that makes game threads. That way no one else misses it.

Hey, thank you for the thread. I really liked the intro-post. Enjoyed the analysis. I think that guy has the right idea....he mentions not expecting the lakers to be very good at reading and dealing with pressure defense until Jan the earliest. People need to understand, there's so much stuff going on in these guy's heads right now. Maybe if their own offense was second nature, it would come quicker, but these guys have alot on their plate.

I am a little disappointed to see Clarkson not recognizing and dealing with it, as this is his 3rd season, but even then, it's hard when your part of a machine.

I'd like to see us hang in there again. One of these days we'll get a road win, and have something to hang our hats on. Till then we just gotta plug away. Tmrw's game seems like a winnable one for us.....but W's and L's are not a huge concern of mine right now. It's nice, but we need to develop more than win. Win's will take center stage in a year or two for me.

Doubt we´ll win this, but very intrigued how we´ll cope with George and Myles Turner.

Randle could have another great game, T.Young could not guard him strength wise and he doesnt have the length too.

I feel like the Lakers can take this one. Been creating so many open looks, they're bound to start falling.

Hope the good guys can get back on track tonight. I feel like this is a winnable game. Joys and pains of rooting for a young up and coming team, c'est la vie.

I had the Lakes going 1-3 on this road trip. This is the game I think they can win. Pacers so far struggling under the new coach/system. If they play the way they have been, clean up the turnovers, stay active on defense and as you mentioned get some of these shots to go in they can win it

Rookie stats

Ingram needs to catch up a bit, but obviously a couple good games and he's back in ROY talks. His 3pt % won't stay at .167
He needs to get more steals and blocks with his lenght though, and seems to be more tentative on D than he was in preseason.

I think as soon as he starts to understand his role a little better his numbers will start to rise. Sometimes he's aggressive out there and sometimes he looks tentative. He seems like the type of player who takes a little while to get comfortable. It was the same in Summer League, and Pre-Season. Once he settles I wouldn't be surprised if he spends the rest of the year hovering around the top 3.

Joel Embiid is a beast tho. I wouldn't be surprised if Joel takes ROY.
