Because the spurs have a lot of talent. I was thinking soon the offense will be spread around more and his numbers will go down. Thats why I said "If" Kahwhi continues.

LeBron or Kawhi

two horse race to me.

Whoever's team wins more games probably. Kawhi will have higher advanced stats than LeBron but we all know LeBron is the best player in the world and will show it in playoffs. That's why I think it will come down to win-loss.

Probably, though if Westbrook can average a triple double (or really close to it) while scoring around 30ppg or more, it can be hard to deny it to him if OKC wins 50 games. Only 47 more to go!

My top 3 right now would be:
1. Leonard (far and away number 1)
2. Westbrook (obviously they won't continue to win games like this but Westbrook is the most valuable in the truest sense of the word)
3. Lebron (still undefeated, still the best player in the world)

Westbrook == West Conf Player Of The Week (week 1)
LeBron ===== East Conf Player Of The Week (week 1)
Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy

1. Westbrook ========> Vengeance Tour in full swing. Team is 4-0.
2. LeBron ===========> Averaging 20.5/9.5/9.5 on a 4-0 team.
3. Kawhi ============> Monster stats, but Westbrook's (and LeBron's) team has the better record.

Westbrook would be clear MVP at this point?

Post#173 » by nbafan38 » Thu Nov 3, 2016 2:56 pm

Okay very small sample size but carrying this team to 4-0 without really much help at all, if they end up top 4 in the west somehow he should be runaway MVP.

Top 5 for me would be...

1. Russell Westbrook
2. LeBron James
3. Kawhi Leonard
4. DeMar DeRozan
5. James Harden

Obviously early, but those five have been the best in the league on winning teams so far. Anthony Davis deserves mention, but his team is terrible.

We should keep in mind that apart from the last game the Thunder have had a very easy schedule.

My pick so far would be Kawhi, he's been dominant on both ends. Westbrook has played good D, but not in Kawhi's league.

I don't think anyone else is on the same planet at this point.

Harden's been the best player in the League offensively & it isn't close. He currently has a 131 Offensive Rating which is mind boggling.

If OKC can be a contender by the end of the season, RW will be the sure MVP.

After 5 games, Harden and Leonard both have a 132 Offensive Rating. I can see good arguments for Westbrook, Harden, or Leonard
