Take this for what its worth. I tried to find out if Dragic was on the trading block and the only info that seem intriguing was this.

IDK gom, Duke got a really amazing recruiting class this year. They're poised to make a title run which means that Grayson will have a lot of opportunity to make a name for himself.
Like Rex said he's already showed that he's an incredibly efficient college scorer putting up 21.6ppg on nearly 62%TS. On top of that he also has an insane ft draw rate of nearly 50%, and those numbers per 40 stayed consistent from his first year to his 2nd year even though his minutes went from only 9 to over 36. Hell his efficiency actually improved even though he was shooting a lot more.
He looked really shaky against Kentucky last season, a performance that exposed all of his flaws on a big stage but he still has time to rectify that. Even if this class is loaded with young studs, the older guys like Frank Kaminsky always manage to sneak in.
I know this is an older post but Grayson has 0 chance of playing himself into the lottery in this draft. This draft class is just way to good and deep. If there is a combo guard from Duke that has a chance to play himself into the lottery it's Frank Jackson. Reports are Frank has killed it in practices and the staff no longer expects him to be back next year. I've heard that he has outplayed Grayson for the majority of the practices. He's much quicker and a better athlete than Grayson and he has a far far superior handle to Grayson. So ya if you're looking to follow a Duke guard that will be worth taking in the lottery it's Frank not Grayson.

Well if nothing else Grayson could end up being a better TJ. He's a much better prospect than TJ was coming out of college.

Frank is definitely a stud. I love his athleticism, handle, shooting ability, and personality. He's my favorite freshman for Duke this year.
However, for the Heat, I think small forward and power forward are areas we should be looking at moreso than another backcourt guy.

I agree with this as long as DSJ, Fultz and Ball have been taken. Those guys are elite PG prospects and it doesn't seem like Dragic is really your guys long term answer. But ya if those 3 are off the clock I agree a front court guy makes a lot more sense

Well, Goran is signed through 2020, so he's about as long term a prospect as we have right now. If we can move him for something real solid then that changes things, but as of now point isn't a problem for us.
Do you have those three guards as your top three prospects in the draft?

I only say that because Dragic's name seems to come up a lot in trade talks. As for my top 3 it changes all the time with this draft. Those 3 are definitely in my top 5 of the draft. That is assuming and hoping that Ball's shows his funky looking shot is still effective. If not than he wouldnt be in my top 5. DSJ and Fultz are in my top 3 for sure though

What's your view on a guy like Hartenstein? I don't think anybody really has their eyes on him yet.

No clue. Don't know anything about foreign guys except for youtube highlights and you can't tell anything really from highlights. When I give my top 5s and stuff it's just guys that has been through the American basketball system (high school and college). So ya I'll be the first to admit I'm pretty clueless on foreign players

I like him a lot, from the limited footage I've seen so far. I was hoping to get a second opinion;)
So who else rounds out your top five? I love Josh Jackson. He's the best NBA prospect since.......Karl Towns:)

My top 5 in no particular order would be Fultz, DSJ, Ball, Tatum and Jackson. Right now I still have DSJ as my #1 though. Honestly the best PG prospect coming into college in the past decade or so. Not saying he's going to be better than Westbrook, Curry or CP3. Just At this stage the best I can remeber in the last decade.
A guy that I haven't been that high on but I got a few buddies that have been telling me he has been killing it in practices is Jonathan Isaac. Has top 3 type potential but he's just so far away from his ceiling. I feel like there are much safer picks than him with high upside as well. But ya my buddies are saying he's been killing it at practices and won't be shocked if his name is in there as well.

What about this guy makes him seem credible to you? You've been here way too long for something like this to grab your attention. You're better than that, Twix.

I know it was only a scope but I wouldnt touch Giles in the top 5 anymore. The people I know with inside connections at Duke were saying prior to the latest knee scope for Giles, he had 0 explosion. Athleticism is a big key to Giles and those knees are just too scary for me to take him that high in this draft. Now if he comes back and has his explosion back I may take all this back. If someone could guarantee Giles knees would be fine he would be the easy #1 choice.
Im not going to lie though, the idea of DSJ as your guys PG is just too good to imagine. Hes my #1 in this draft.
And when it comes to Bolden high potential guy buy major major motor question marks. Showed little motor in Duke's scrimmage but in their first exhibition played with a motor and just dominated (against very poor competition). Had 5 blocks, 11 boards (6 offensive) in just 25 minutes. His wingspan is freaking ridiculous. High potential if he decides he wants it.

Motor issues are exactly what plagued Hassan for years. If anyone could bring it out of him it'd be us. With that said he's not the position of need right now.
I doubt we pick top 5, I feel like the 7-15 range is more realistic. In than range we either take who falls from the top 5 or take a chance on a guy like Jonathan Isaac or Marques Bolden.

Re: Official 2017 Draft Thread - Something Positive To Look Forward To
I believe we're going to miss out on the top prospects unless someone drops due to injury or something. Hopefully some obscure players emerge or there are some super seniors that trick teams like Buddy Hield and Kaminsky. With that in mind I'm looking at the prospects in the late lottery to the teens range. Right now, depending on if he steps up this year in a bigger role, I think Anunoby would be a good fit as PF next to Whiteside like Deng. If the rumors about him having the goat wingspan are true, then he will grab the Heat's attention as that's one of the first things they notice when scouting.
Other PFs in that range include Hartenstein and Markannen, who both have good highlights and speak English well. The good thing is Markannen will play college ball, so we'll get a better idea of what he can do.
