Gorgui Dieng, Wolves Finalizing Four-Year, $64M Extension

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Oct 31, 2016 9:42 pm

Gorgui Dieng and the Minnesota Timberwolves are working on agreement on a four-year, $64 million contract extension.

Dieng's future with the Wolves has been uncertain due to how he fits beside Karl-Anthony Towns.

He's not worth that money. It's only actual circumstances going his way.

Normally I would agree that he's not worth it. But this is Mozgov money and he's better then Mozgov. With the new NBA contracts this is a solid contract. on the other hand Dieng sucks. He's the most overrated underrated guy in the league lol. He's been putting up #'s this year too but if you watch the games he just makes you cringe. He has that ugly midrange jumper that he's actually improving so that's good. But he's pretty much that tall fat kid that plays Recreational ball... WHENEVER THEY GET AN OFFENSIVE REBOUND, Instead of passing it out and resetting up the offense they shoot a blind contested putback that rarely hits rim. He is also a terrible defender. He gets his blocks but dude is so slow footed and unskilled he can't keep up with most. He would be a solid addition to the bench. He pretty much was forced to play 4 when we grabbed KAT because we have nobody else... but honestly I would trade him with Rubio or let him come off the bench.

Is there a problem with him fitting alongside KAT?

Thanks for the honesty.

What problem will there be? KAT is a mobile big man, who can play the PF and C; he also have the length to keep with the the guards. KAT may go down as a top 10 center, but he has to win at least two championship to be really considered and at least 4 championships to be top 5.
