Defense was better than the previous games but by any normal standard it was still not good.

Russell may not be the shooter some thought he was. He has trouble creating separation and the jumper is streaky at best. Defenders will start sitting on it because he isn't going to blow by anyone either. I still think he's out of position at the 1 at this level.

JC did OK in stretches.
Randle didn't get the touches he got in the last game but he rebounded well.
Nance was resurgent
Dang looks to be rounding into regular season form.... a few games late.
Lou was what he is.
No Zubac!.... Why?

19 turnovers but none down the stretch.

In the end they had a closer and we don't.

Yeah am really surprised about Luke's line up down the stretch. I was yelling at my screen when George goes against guards and score on 3 consecutive times to blow our lead. Man this experiment thing is frustrating

All things being equal, Russell should've never got back in the game. He put Russ and Randle back in because of his "development over wins" quote.

Exactly and that's as it should be if this is what you're banking your future on at this stage so early in the season you have to stick with that plan. It would be nonsense to scar it after 4 games... stick to the young core down the stretch and let them learn how to close games.

Have to laugh though last year Scott would go for wins over development lose the game and folks screamed about that.. this year we're seeing development over wins, losing games and now we got folks screaming about that...lol

So many stupid posts here really...
Did anyone expect that we will be a PO team? Its a process, and it was good game.
Another one with so many open shots missed (but its normal in young team on road games).

We played 4 games versus PO teams and 3L was on the road, but we fought until last minutes. This is positive not negative.

I just prefer more minutes for Ingram (and rest of youngs) cause development over wins - this is most important.

This is a tough stretch for us. We finish this 4 game road trip at Atlanta tomorrow then our first home game back is against Golden State on Friday.

The Good News: After this stretch we got the Suns, Mavericks, Kings, Pelicans, Timberwolves, and Nets. Definitely some winnable games in there.

I thought we'd win the Thunder and Pacer game, but lose the Hawks game. Hopefully i'm wrong about everything lol.

I mostly agree, but you have to admit there's some nuance here, otherwise you'd just give your top three or four youngins 35 minutes a game and say eff it (I'm sure many would probably like that).

Reality is that they've got to feel the competition of the very own teammates in order to get better as well. That's the problem with young folks today -- far too often things are handed to them instead of them earning it. I'd trade Lou Williams for almost nothing, but he earned the right to finish that game. There would've been nothing wrong wirh Russ or Clarkson holding the clipboard on a night the old guy got hot and a real SF needed to be in the game to check an All-NBAer.

If their egos and psyches are too fragile to withstand a minor "scar" like this, they don't really have what it takes anyway.

14 assists.. ugh.. Don't think we're going to start winning games at a good clip until we get that to 22+ a game mark.

With that said, I love the fight and competition with the team. None of these games have turned into early blowouts even though we've had some unsuccessful stretches.

On another note, PG13 has said that wants to win, nothing else. He's not gonna win much on that team. I think he's made for this Lakers team and Luke and LA.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny

Paul George took over

That's all
Lakers have been in every game

They will learn how to close
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

good job by the Lakers. they just could not handle PG13. I think they need more time getting used to the offense, still too much one on one plays... not enough passing.

Young team no go to player like PG13. Glad we kept up even when we had guys in foul trouble.

Just wish we would of won though...

At least we won one game...It sucks to play 4 straight on the road right at the very beginning of the season

terrible schedule. but d'angelo has not been able to take games over like i thought he would be able to. that is disappointing. i thought this season would be his coming out party. It is still very early in the season however. He did make some good plays but he needs to assert himself early....foul trouble didnt help his case this game.

Well, he was torching teams in the pre-season then that whole conversation of whether or not he's shooting too much came about. I know Luke said he wants him to learn when to shoot and when to find his teammates, and figure out that balance. I'm hoping this is just him working through figuring that out/Or, just a few off nights. Well see tho. He was shooting with a ton of confidence in the pre-season.

Hopefully Russell develops into a real guardian with some vision, strength, and speed. He is still young but his vision and speed should be there. It really isn't right now. He currently reminds me of.... Chauncey Billups in his early years. The bad Chauncey.

And I'll still go back to to our biggest problem is not the number of assists, or our FG% but the turnover %, (we're first in that category depending on if the Kings play) and giving out way too many fouls (4th last time I checked) clean those up and a couple of these games are wins or at least we're not playing catchup all night long
