I just moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area. My son and I are now Kings Season ticket holders and toured the new Arena
Any downtown spots recommended to go b4 and after Kings game.

Old Sac will most likely be the best spot for before and after games. It isn't too far from the arena and there are some good options for food. K Street would probably be better before games since there are a lot of bars in the area but there's a lot of good food too.

Everyone's game rituals will be different. I have been a season ticket holder since 06 but at that Time I lived pretty close to the arena. I'd leave the house @ 6:40 and make tipoff.

Now...I don't know? I moved by the lake so I'll RT into Midtown. I'll personally probably hit up Fieldwork (brewery) on the way in? As far as food in and around the arena again...it is new. There hasn't been much in the area right around the arena other than 4th St Grille and Il Fornio (sp)?

For me I'd probably hit up a spot in Midtown then go in. The food options are supposed to be way better than before so as long as the prices aren't stupid you may be able to just go there?

I can second midtown as a place to go before the game. There is a ton of stuff around there and you will be able to find anything you want. The issue is that you would have to take RT or Uber to get to the arena because it is a little too far to walk.

Old Sac would be where I would go if I was look for a lot of things close to each other that are walking distance from the arena. Lots of bars and restaurants there. I personally like midtown better though.

Pizza Rock at 1020 K is fairly popular with the crowd at sactownroyalty.com, so if you are looking to talk basketball before the game, that might be a place to check out.

Firestone Public at 1132 16th street also has a decent amount of Kings fans, but that is about ten blocks from the arena, so it might be a little far to walk. The local radio station has held events there in the past.

I personally like the Coin Op Arcade Room 908 K. Lots of late 80s/early 90s arcade games with a good bar. Don't know what you and your son are into though...might not be your cup of tea.

If the fanfest was any indication, I would try to eat before the game or at the game. A lot of things downtown were closed after the fan fest. But maybe that changes for the actual games.

Can vouch for coin op and Firestone. Both good options.

The coin-op is great, but those bastards need to fix their busted ass buttons and joysticks. Street fighter 2 is unplayable and there are quite a few other games that have buttons that stick, or aren't properly applying inputs. They have very good pizza and beer on tap though. Their NBA jam machine is in good shape.

Petra greek is another place I recommend. The best banana cream pie can be found at fats in downtown. Mike Dunleavy actually called fats his favorite NBA city restaurant.

The best ramen is at a place next to the safeway on s and 15. The best mexican food is at tres hermanas. I also really like a place called hook and ladder. Sacramento has very underrated food.

I went to Firestone before the maccabi haifa game and they had a pretty good happy hour menu before 6pm, if you are looking for something like that.

Fats has some good foot, but IMO it also has some mediocre food. But I can vouch for the banana cream pie.
