How are we getting Noel? I keep reading this and just don't get it. He is not going to be let go in fa. They will force a sign and trade if he isn't traded at the deadline. So who are we giving up? Warren? Knight? Picks? Bender? Chriss? Bc Philly isn't giving him away and I don't want to part with any of those except Knight in a trade for Noel. Also if we vetoed due to knees as rumored then that hasn't changed. If that is the case we certainly won't be paying him a big deal.

I still think we should move tucker and Chandler for picks, give len a low 8 figure deal, and address center in the draft or FA or trading for somebody not well thought of but young (like raptors with biyimbo) instead of paying in assets for a sure thing.

I think it's best to keep Chandler through the end of the year, see how Alex progresses. If he warrants a re-signing here, then we could let Chandler go. Given how well he's played for us this season and his extraordinarily reasonable contract, I imagine we'll have suitors.

The better this team plays, the more valuable they become. In particular, if Knight can get his FG% out of the dumpster, we'll have an asset to parlay. The only question is, with a core of:

Bledsoe-Ulis
Booker-Barbosa
Warren-Bender
Dudley-Chriss
Len-Draft Pick, I assume

What would we really want in trade? Just more distant future picks?

Great game by Len but he'll need to do this and more to warrant talks about his future as a Sun

Ok, so Len needs to watch this game OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Play within yourself (in fact, just play like TJ and by that I mean dont force **** just take what the D gives you) , attack the rim and and block shots. THATS IT. We dont need you to be the white dream shake brah. Swat some shots and dunk it. period.

This is exactly it. Just move to the hoop, be ready for the pick and roll, no need to shoot the 18 footer unless it is wide open. Focus on rebounding on both ends. Protect the rim. Len does that and he will get a huge deal.

I can't imagine how poorly Len would have to play this season for him to accept an offer like that. I'm hoping he earns Steven Adams kind of money as that would mean we've found our big man of the future.

If he played poorly enough to accept that, he would be playing poorly enough for Suns fans to not want him back at any price.

Agreed. His back problems are the only reason the offer is so low and it's the only reason he might be willing to accept the offer. We don't have that with Len. If he can play at a backup level, he's worst almost twice that amount. I'm frustrated by him but I think we need to ride it out with him.

Good point. But if Len continues to play below Suns and market expectation, I'd probably be ok with a $7m a year deal. It's a farcry from an overpay and at worst he's a 7'1 C with OK mobility, 6 fouls and the rare double double performance.

I'm pretty certain he will get more than that. What we SHOULD do is give him a modest contract with incentives and milestones that can earn him more if the averages a certain # of rebs, blocks, fg% and defensive rating.

Unfortunately there are limits to what you can do in that regard. I think it's limited to 25% of the deal and I'm not positive but it might cause some Cap difficulties too.

That's fine. Use what they can. I don't think we will run into cap issues for quite some time. By the time Warren and Booker are getting contracts, Chandler's, Bledsoe's and Knight's will be ending. I guess the guards will still be under contract with Warren, but Bledsoe will expire before Booker gets a deal. Chandler will be gone before anyone gets a deal.

K.I.S.S

Keep It Simple, Stupid.

That's all he gotta do. Rebound and the occasional put back and he'll be fine.
