The Plumlee contract is going to hurt, we could have signed someone better for that money.

Delly was a fantastic add, Mirza was a good addition off the bench too, wish he played a little D though.

Delly is fine but on the whole, they've mortgaged their whole future with their "role player" decisions over the last 18 months or so. Signing Monroe instead of keeping Zaza, Ersan, and Dudley, taking MCW instead the LAL pick, trading multiple picks for Vazquez, paying Plumlee almost twice what he's worth even in this market.

Teletovic is terrible, a net negative everywhere he's been in every situation. They needed shooting but you don't have to tolerate such poor all-around play to get it, especially not at $10m per season until he's 34. It creates more problems than it solves.

Again, Delly is fine but when all you're trying to do is add the right role players around Giannis and Middleton, getting just one decision right is unacceptable. These are not high degree-of-difficulty decisions.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

I already loved him from day one because getting rid of MCW was addition by subtraction. Snell playing well is just icing on the cake.

Maybe in Chicago he tried to do too much. With Giannis and Parker he doesn't have to do much.

I think he just had his confidence shot and is a quiet guy.

And when he came here GIannis smiled at him and said "Just play D and shoot whne I pass to you and we will have fun"

Sometimes all you need is a new situation or new teammates to flourish

Not extending Snell is going to be a big regret next summer.

He's RFA so you can still get him reasonable as long as you actually wait. What a raping of a trade this was though.

So the options are either let him walk for 4/$16 or sign him for 4/$52.

Hindsight is 20/20 but quite a few people were talking about inking him to an extension while his value was still low. That's going to hurt. IIRC there were talks of us negotiating with him, so maybe he and his agent were confident he could raise his value.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Chicago was just a poisonous environment for him. He had a fine (if unspectacular) year under Thibodeau. Not only did he get a new coach, but he had to play with Rose, Noah, Butler: a washed-up ballhog, a blowhard whose game doesn't match his unnecessary intensity anymore (remember the chest bump thing?), and a guy who seems like a bit of a tool, respectively. It's an unlikable bunch of players. Maybe it's ot a coincidence that Snell looked improved even in the 3 preseason games he played with the Bulls after two of them left.

Even in his first 2-3 RS games this year where his 3s werent falling, he still looked like a generally positive player. I know he has an inconsistency streak but I'm very cautiously optimistic we found a knock-off Middleton.

Worth realizing that Snell's production right now is basically what it always has been (albeit in a very short sample), the only difference being a better rebounding rate.

He's been more aggressive inside the arc (4.3 two point makes per/36, been at about 3 for his Bulls tenure), but he's shot a lot worse from outside (3 for 14 from three's since he joined you guys, where he's usually 36/37% at).

So over time, more 3's should go in, it's just a question of whether he'll keep up the aggression taking it to the cup. That was the inconsistency problem we faced with him on the offensive end.

It's just impossible to know what to do with stats like this when your team is giving big minutes to Jabari, Mirza, Monroe, and Teletovic. Nothing skews a guy's +/- like having to play with those guys, or having the privilege of playing far less minutes with more than one of them than your teammates do.

I like Snell.

ETA: Snell, Brogdon, and Thon - maybe this team can fall ass-backwards into some decent role players in spite of their bizarre decisions in free agency.

Delly was a fantastic add, Mirza was a good addition off the bench too, wish he played a little D though.

He has a shtick and he's sticking to it. Ignore him.

If Hammond is still around we'll probably end up paying him $14 million too.

But yeah given what we've seen it's hard to imagine why any team would bury him on the bench and then trade him for MCW. Plus defenders with good athleticism who can shoot are not exactly a dime a dozen.

Said it was a great trade when it happened and it's totally confirmed already in my mind. Even setting aside the "aggression" concerns of Bulls fans. A 6'7 SG with a 7 foot wingspan who has legit 3 point range and willing to play D? Yes. That is exactly what the Bucks needed and they got him for a guy who really was a net negative player.

I think this is a bit of Snell's MO. Good 1 out of every X games.

That was pretty much the frustration. Looks the part and has all the tools but simply disappeared for weeks at a time. Not sure why- seems like a good guy so maybe he just didn't mesh with Thibs and the Bulls bad locker room. I hope Snell works out, always liked him.

Well it helps that his teammates actually pass the ball unlike when he was with the Bulls. There was too much ISO for the Bulls which made it hard for anyone but Butler to thrive.

Been a really good fit so far. He's going to be a nice backup for when Midds returns. Could even see him in the closing lineup when it's all said and done.
