So many arrogant armchair GM's in here. Just accept you don't know everything for once. Are we really questioning playing Jeff Green over Mario at the moment? Really? My god...

Stats aside, I just like the way that dude plays. Plays nasty. I wanted us to take him at #5. Hennigan prefers drafting fabric softener.
Is 18 and 5 supposed to be impressive?
Uhm yes?
A 2nd year player thrust into a starting role and guarding what could be a top 5 player this season? I don't even want to imagine Hezonja guarding Leonard.

Mario come back to europe. There will be enough time for second try in NBA if you become good enough.

That won't change a fact that Vucevic's French lover is overrated.

That's what you said, not me.
I'm saying that pretty boy who is in love with Vuc and his own FG% will never be a franchise player.

You've just got an elitist sense of the word.

Send him to D league so he can gain trust to his jumpshot agian.
On side note, his own teammates just skip him in game, comming off bench with Green and Augustin means you will never touch a ball.

Re: The Mario Thread 2016-17
looked some of his old stuff today. I have no clue what happend to him. Even last year in preseason he looked confident ,with much better stroke. Now he is flat out awful at everything.
We are only 5 games into a season and he will probably get better over time but right now things look bad. Also it doesn't help that he plays with second unit with Augustin and Green that take all the shots anyway.

Yes this will be hard for mario.
Meeks shooting will help our Offense.
Eben now i think that Coach Vogel could play rudez a bit more instead of Mario.
Rudez could really help to space the floor

Re: The Mario Thread 2016-17
The good thing about Mario has been his effort.
He isn't getting touches right now, for good reason, but his effort on the other end has made me happy.
I'm ok with sending him to the DL once Meeks is back. A mostly veteran reserve could help.

Re: The Mario Thread 2016-17
He didn't improve, that's the problem.
But to say he regressed is still too early, IMO. I do believe things will eventually even out with regards to Mario's shooting.
Why I'm not overly concern about his shooting is because last year, he didn't have to play a lot of international basketball, and even played in the NBA summer league. The problem with international basketball is that they use the Molten ball, and that ball has a different weight than what the NBA uses. I'm not sure how fast he will basically be able to adapt back to the NBA standards, but basically almost the whole offseason, he played with the Molten ball. It doesn't apply to everyone who played internationall ball, but even Tony Parker is struggling right now, one of France's key players. Getting to watch Tristan Thompson live struggling to shoot gimme using that ball during the Olympic Qualifier was quite difficult to watch.
Offensively, Mario has been struggling, but defensively, he seems to be more explosive with his timing challenging shots and sometimes even challenging shots near the rim. Mario's shooting percentage are way way down as well as his turnovers being on the high side. But defensively, based on his Per 36, he is fouling less (half of what he used to), he blocks more (albeit small difference of .1), and his steals number are the same. His rebounding numbers have also increased.
Offensively, he is still struggling, but defensively I think he has been the same or better than last year.
I don' think sending him to the Dleague would help him, but I think even if he's struggling, he's still a threat that the defense would have to defend and rather not leave open.

It s a little bit frustrating to see how good winslow plays for the heat now .
Henny could have draft him last Year.

What if Hezonja can become peak-level Pat Garrity?
I'm talking 10ppg off the bench, pre-injury Pat Garrity. That's all I'm asking for.
