Re: So When Do We Acknowledge A.Bradley As A Star?

Post#61 » by GreenBloodedC » Fri Nov 4, 2016 5:25 pm

Here's what I wrote in our board right after his good game against Charlotte.
Let me just say that what makes seeing Bradley play good even better is because we have witnessed him develop in front of our eyes.

He's the only one left who played with the big 3, and our draft pick nonetheless.

Take a bow, AB. Take a bow.

Well if he played against the rest of the league like he always do against the Cavs he'd already be an all-star

Sort of reminds me of when guys like Afflalo and Dahntay Jones broke out with big scoring years. I've always liked Bradley, but it's tough to average more than 16ppg with less than 2 free throws/game. That's usually reserved for elite gunners.

Depends on definition of a star. But I think he's been underrated for a while now. Many lists don't have him as a top 5-7 SG. He's definitely playing like one of the best SGs in the league this year

31 against cha and 26 against but apart from he just had mediocre to pretty good performances. I wouldnt consider him a star but he's a good player.

And yea i love how worked on his game. I remember when he played in israel and struggled cause of his inability to shoot. REALLY worked on his craft. Mad props for that

Bradley should not care too much about being labeled a star. If your team wins enough, then everyone the roster gets rated a bit higher.

Ugh, what an ugly term that "3 and D" is. Categorizes players into little boxes that make you unaware of their other contributions to the team.

Whoever came up with it deserves a D on their forehead.

If he keeps shooting 60+ TS% with his defense, sure... But a few games is not a season.

He's going to get a max deal in 2 years. Question is if he's worth it.

Where he was picked in the draft he's really been a best case scenario player.

Avery Bradley had a 13 PER last year...statisticly it kind of seems like he hasn't changed too much but is hitting the three at an unsustainable rate early on. So...um he's not a star at all maybe? Could be wrong.

There's no chance he gets a max deal. That's like $27M+ annually.

Really happy with what I've seen so far though.

Yep. It's all about consistency with him. He needs to avoid hitting those "mid season walls" and that "after the first qrtr walls" like he did last year. Thats the next step.

I think Bradley can score himself a $100 million contract.

Tobias Harris breakout year?

Post#77 » by MotownMadness » Fri Nov 4, 2016 6:44 pm

Small sample size but he's been ridiculously efficient as our #1 option. He's 24 now and in his 6th season, He's always been versatile and efficient but his shot just looks smooth especially from 3. His numbers will probably dip a bit once Reggie gets back but so far he's looking like a MIP candidate.

Through 5 games-

20.8ppg, 58 fg%, 53 3pt% (3.4 attempts)
23 PER
68 TS%

I know that Orlando misses that scoring :D Imagine him in the lineup vs Gordon @ the 3. Vogel training him to become the next PG would've been more believable

Chances of him maintaining that scoring efficiency (particularly that 3P%) approach zero. Chances of him shooting 60% from below the arc on the season are also pretty limited. He's shooting 61.1% from 3-9 feet, which isn't going to continue forever and will likely decline quite soon. Seems remarkably unlikely that this is anything like his full-season profile.
