I just want Knight gone. Barbosa has been the better scorer, and Ulis the better player. Totally happy with a Bled-Ulis rotation at the 1 and a Booker-Barbosa rotation at the 2. Knight is killing us.

Guys, len was top 5 pick. Remember.

In the next draft we will have several talented pgs, but no guarantee that it will be better than Bledsoe. We have to be more calm with these conclusions. We need to value and support our players.

I think all coaches will say good things about the Suns. The team is loaded on young talent and odds are Watson won't stay for too long, so it might be an interesting job being open in a couple of years.

If we can get Lopez in exchange for a late 1st rounder or Brandon Knight, I'm all about it.

Knight will be happy unleashed on the Nets. He and Lin can gun away.

Lopez will take some pressure off Chandler which is key because Chandler can't keep playing heavy minutes.

Best of all, by taking on Lopez and his contract, we get an expiring in 2018, the year Boogie is a free agent.

We can value and support our players all we want when there out injured with a knee injury. Or not even coming close to living up the expectations of a top 15 pick(I see you Len)

This is true but Len's draft was considered an extremely weak one going into it, and the talent in this one is very highly rated

Yeah, but there are several players in the top-10 in every draft who don't amount to anything. Even in 2015 (yes, I know it's still very early) which was considered to be a very strong draft, there is Hezonja, Johnson, Mudiay and WCS who don't look like they will be anything special in the league. I definitely don't think they will be better players than Bledsoe.

Bledsoe deserves to stay with the core.

Trading away Bledsoe for Brooks would be so stupid. That was such a terrible proposal.

The cool thing about trading Knight is it will FORCE Watson to use Ulis as a backup and EVEN if Bledsoe goes down, them it will force him to use Ulis even more (even if it means backing up Barbosa).

The frustrating thing is that I am actually almost a fan of the Ulis/Knight pairing. Knight off the ball isn't bad as we can hide him in the corner and then he is free to bomb away or drive when we have nothing else going for us. As long as Knight plays in the second squad, isn't the primary ball handler, and NEVER EVER is on the floor in crunch time, I'm OK with keeping him.

I would say no to Lopez. That's a win now move, and we should be building for the future. I get everybody wants to get rid of Knight but I think we could get a pick for Knight from somebody, or package him with others for a better fit than Lopez.

By the way, has Tucker been traded yet?

If the plan was for Knight to be Barbosa as a 6 man then why sign Barbosa?

The problem is that he WOULD end up being the primary ball handler because in his mind, he would be the Kobe Bryant of the second unit.

I think I feel better now

Less than two weeks into the 2016-17 season, Suns coach Earl Watson is already developing a reputation among the fans of being more interested in wins than player development.

In their first wins of the season, a pair of overtime thrillers, Watson leaned heavily on veterans at the expense of his rookies. P.J. Tucker played more minutes (53) than all three promising rookies combined (25). In fact, Dragan Bender and Tyler Ulis did not even take off their warmups in either game.

Nope. A couple of wins were necessary. Bender will get minutes, but sitting a couple of games will not hurt him. Playing the vets for wins is not about the wins. It is about rewarding Warren, Booker, and Bledsoe for their hard work. You cannot develop everyone all at once in the same way. All three of those players really needed these two games. For Warren it was about being able to perform well in wins, not just in losses. For Bledsoe, it was the experience of making clutch shots. For Booker, it was getting back on track. The vets were not the stars in these wins, they were enablers. They enabled our young guys to succeed. Even Chandler's minutes are helping Len. This is why it take both veterans and young players on a roster to develop young players.

BTW. With the roster we now have, player development is more important than picking higher.

It sucks but it could be politics. Maybe the FO has asked Watson to play the veterans more early on because maybe we are still trying to sell season tickets? IDK. Or we are just trying to up Tucker's value. Or we are just trying to bring the rookies along slowly.

Ingram played quality minutes against the Warriors but he is being brought along slowly too so really I'm not too worried about it this early in the season. Rookie seasons I imagine are very brutal for their mind & body.
