Saw plenty (over 30) at Texas Stadium. It was a great place to watch a game. Always enjoyed interacting with fans from other teams there. Redskins fans were the best right along with Giants fans. Eagles fans sucked but that isn't much of a surprise. I've been to the new place and it's pretty amazing. But - haven't seen a Cowboys game there yet. $75 parking is an ender for me. My grandson and I saw the last Cotton Bowl (ALA/Michigan St) there. Won tickets and parking so of course we went!
When I was in the Air Force, a bunch of us went to see the Cowboys play the Saints at the Superdome in 1976. Everyone should see a game there and experience New Orleans at least once in their lives. Nothing like it.
And finally, my best friend (die hard Redskins fan) and I took a road trip in 1995 to D.C. Cowboys/Redskins at RFK. Best football experience ever. Redskins band playing "Hail To The Redskins" in front of us. The stands bouncing with the "We Want Dallas" chant. Lots of Cowboys fans. We lost. Got invited to a bar with a bunch of folks afterward. I cannot tell you how much fun that day was. Also was given the best piece of advice any Cowboys fan could ever receive from a Redskins fan (actually - every Redskins fan I talked to)...
Don't ever go to Philly. Place sucks.
What was the Cotton Bowl like? when I was very young that was always my favorite Bowl game. Of course that's when they had the old Southwest conference.
I was 14 and we went to the State Fair for the first time. So we happened to get tickets to the game. I don't remember anything about the game (Falcons) but I remember how cool it was to be in the Cotton Bowl for a Cowboys game. I've been back for a TEXAS/OU game (1973) and a ton of concerts but the place is really kind of a dump. Seating is narrow with no leg room and getting in and out sucks. But when I was 14... it was pretty damn amazing.
