Yes tomorrow. But i'm sure it'll take a week minimum (probably two) before he ramps up enough to be able to play in a game.

I would say just expect "By christmas" with the knowledge that its probably closer to first week of Dec. I believe he's resumed Bball activity. Its a matter of conditioning and practicing.

Question #2, does anyone have concern that Jackson's return might not instantly make us better? I think Ish and Beno have both played decent, but more so I like that we've had some higher % shooters getting more shots in Harris, Morris, and Leuer and I am hoping that our solid forward play and efficiency doesn't drop once Reggie gets the ball in his hands.

I have 0 concern as Reggie is definitely the better player , can attack the rim from the PG position and MOST IMPORTANTLY is the most clutch player in the league. In games like Brklyn where we are still in it but can't score, that's RJ time. Another huge change is that RJ can actually shoot a 3. Ish has had at least 3 or 4 open 3 point looks a game because defenses are sagging on him, RJ will make them pay much more than ish, which should open the lane up(in theory)

I am also really curious to see how we incorporate RJ into this new scheme. We are running a lot more off ball screen sets and if RJ plays similar to Ish, he'll be playing a lot more off ball. ie he should be better defensively. One thing i have enjoyed about smith is his effort on the defensive end and RJ better come with that mentality

Also our bench should get a boost, though i think we are better suited with Beno as the PG with his ability to score. Particularly when SJ is struggling , though it'll definitely be ish. I would be very suprised to see SVG rotations dramatically change but i would not be suprised to see him tinker.

Our ball movement in the series with Cleveland was some of the best we had all season I thought... I'm not worried about it one way or another though. Reggie is a superior talent at PG to Ish and whether or not we look great from the get go I don't really care.
We need Reggie.

I think having an above average starting PG back will only help our team. Let's not forget, our starting five last year after acquiring Tobias was one of the best in the league. moving Ish to the bench only makes us deeper and stronger.

Reggie should also help our shooting woes at times. He's a much better shooter/scorer than Ish. Reggie also has a nice rapport with Andre, which should help us in the post.

I think Monday November 14 will be his first game back. At home, against the Thunder.

IF we're playing .500 ball without him I'd rather he sit out a little longer than come back a little early

A match up vs Westbrook first up might make us all moist but is that really the way to go?

I'd rather see him come back against an easy opponent than Westbrook

That's way too early. Rockets game on the 21st I'd say is the earliest return date, but I'd bet a week later is likely.

We need Reggie.

Well, Cle was blitzing the pnr with Drummond every time so Reggie was forced to give up the ball. I wouldn't take that series as an indication of improved ball movement

Reggie 100% makes us a better team. He's not going to have to handle 99% of the shot creation and ball handling duties like the first half of last season.

We nicknamed him Mr. 4th Quarter for a reason, don't forget all of the games he single handedly took over last season.

Reggie is resuming "basketball activities." I guess you can't really say it means a lot, as how it goes is the big issue. A healthy Reggie definitely improves the Pistons.

Reggie as a finishing threat, in the pic n roll, is huge. I think it's taken for granted. We will be definitely better upon his return. I'm surprised it's being questioned.

Yep Reggie will help us without question, and we've seen him focus on getting others involved before, he can do it, and I think watching from the sidelines has probably opened his eyes abit. He can see guys like Leuer, Harris, Morris and KCP really feeling confident as shooters when they spot up of Smith's drives, it will make it easier for him to penetrate to the hoop, we know he has improved his 3 point shooting and that will be great for our starting unit, as Ish has been great but he cannot shoot a lick.

Spot on. A ton of people seem to have forgotten this aspect, and even more seem to have forgotten he's on the verge of being an all-star, in a league with an absolute glut of good to great Point Guards.

The fact that the midget in Boston got in over him still stings as there is no way I would take him (Thomas) over Jackson.

Reggie is one of the best players in the league by the numbers when it counts, and that's huge. There are a ton of players while good, or even great, seize up when it counts. Reggie excels.

Well, Jackson might have to shake off some rust so the team might not be immediately better while that's happening but he easily makes the Pistons a better team. To my surprise Smith is actually playing well outside of a talentless Philadelphia team where he had all the freedom in the world. That was pretty much the only situation he did have success in prior to Detroit. But Reggie is just a huge upgrade and, almost more importantly, makes Andre consistently better. This is going to be good.

I would like to see Reggie come back asap but on limited mins which gradually escalates. Having a similar injury myself its my experience that 2 things ruin my day and immobilize me. 1. heavy lifting (very strenuous) or 2. length of time.

Well, Since Reggie's return.

Team is shooting a lower FG%.

Team is averaging fewer assists.

Team is averaging more turnovers.

Probably can conclude the ball movement has been worse.

We didn't "instantly" get better with a rusty Jackson compared to how we were playing with Ish and Beno getting the PG minutes.

I am no basketball play book guy but his over dribbling kills our offense.
