Booker is never shy in taking shots but his efficiency is pretty pedestrian at the moment. But he will learn and become better there.

But Warren has been as good if not better this season so far. Booker has a much higher usage and shot rate... But I think Warren could put up 40 point games with 25 shots and make 15 or more of them.

Kerrsed wrote:You guys are also on this, "OH MY GOD, WARREN IS SOOOOOO AMAZING!! Sure, its only been 6 games and our team has sucked ass and our real future all-star Booker has played like hot garbage due to teams now stepping up their defensive pressure against him, but Warren is the greatest!!!" I give him credit for stepping up, but man, some of you guys are going completely overboard this early in the season.

Warren has proven that he can score the ball while playing the SF spot, but lacks the rebounds/assists/steals/blocks/3 point shot to be considered an all-star there. The only crazy numbers are his points (on 41% shooting). Everything else is ordinary or below. To me, he has Rudy Gay written all over him, and i challenge anyone to convince me otherwise. Cool, he can score 20 points a game, but what else does he contribute to the team. Can he get a solid 20 points per game when the rest of the team isnt dogging it in the dumps like we have been for the past 5 games? Who knows, but i see a poormans Rudy Gay.

Team has been garbage, and he has played the best on a hot mess of a team. Its Rudy Gay. Once Booker and/or Bledsoe start to get going, lets see if Warren can continue. Wiggins/Lavine have been playing good next to an all-star player in KAT. The Bucks have an absolute stud in Antetopoetopjwe;rgh;gfnh1, yet Parker still has been playing great next to him. Its like the past few seasons when i point out a player and the #1 thing i hear is, "He is only putting up stats like that because his team is sooooo bad" (Yes, i have heard that a lot, specially when it came to the 76ers).

You really seem to be undervaluing Warren. You mention people overreacting about Warren and that he has only been playing well while the rest of the team plays like hot garbage, but at the same time mention Booker as the "real future all star" when he has really only had big games when the rest of our team is playing like hot garbage as well.

I don't think playing well when your team is playing like crap is a bad thing, but quite the contrary. He was the only one defenses had to worry about in his biggest games this season as no one else was hitting their shot so defenders could double.

Booker has never shot terribly well consistently yet.

Also, you mention the only thing he does is score a lot and mention 41%, yet he is 46% from the field this year but in his first two years is above 50%. I bet that % increases over time when/if we ever have any other scoring threats on the floor.

And not doing anything else? He is 11th in the nba in steals, gets over 6 boards a game which is top half of league for SF, and shoots 40% from 3 (tied for 2nd on the team with Bender behind Dudley who is at 44%). Booker is at 32% from 3. He also shot 40% last year.

I think Booker and Warren do and in the future will complement each other extremely well as they have different strengths, yet they are two very serious scoring threats.

Warren is great with offensive rebounds and putbacks, just the knack for being in the right place at the right time and knowing where the ball will bounce, has great floaters, stuff around the rim. They can both shoot from range (hopefully Booker improves from 3) and Booker is the better facilitator while Warren has seemed to pick up his D and has been really been active with his hands, among league leaders in steals.

I want to keep all our young guys though so I wouldn't want to have to pick between Chriss and Warren, though I'd be surprised if Chriss ever developed nearly the bbiq that Warren already has.

But Booker and Warren, now inserted as starters in the same season, and have so much time now and in the future to develop that chemistry together will be great. Then if our three rookies can start to get some playing time together at some point to further develop chemistry between our youth we may actually resemble a functional basketball team that plays team ball with a bunch of 3 pt threats, a couple of guys who can block shots, all sorts of length, etc.

Most of our team's certainly does. It's not the greatest measure or nearly one of the best indicators to look at but it is a decent capture of the basic raw stats.

Qwigglez wrote:I would do this...
Warren/Len/Knight/Tucker + 2017 1st round pick, 2 Miami 1st for Cousins/Gay

Bledsoe/Booker/Gay/Chriss/Cousins

I would hate to lose Warren but he is showing All-Star talent. Gay is a good replacement and we can sign him to a 3 year deal after this year while Bender develops off the bench and eventually takes over the starting 3 in a few years. Yes we give up our 1st round pick for the upcoming draft but we already got Booker/Chriss/Bender to develop. This trade would be along the lines of what the Clippers did to acquire CP3 except we are giving up a lot more assets.
Here is the Clippers/Hornets trade: CP3 for Gordon/Kaman/Aminu and a 1st from Minny. Gordon at the time was averaging 22/4.5/3/1.3. Warren is currently averaging 22/6/1/2.

Could possibly start Chandler at center and Cousins at PF but then we'd have no backup bigs.

No.
Please...no.

In the first seven games of the season we have discovered something that is was not a sure thing just one month ago : We have two quite possible All Stars players in Booker and Warren who are 20 and 23 years old. We need to build around them...not to trade them.

We have something special on our hands with those two together for years to come.

:o
Bledsoe seems to be dispensable to the Suns as they have Knight as the designated starting point guard and Booker as their future point guard.

Bledsoe for JR Smith? Oh. God. No.

I don't even think I'd feel good about Brandon Knight for JR Smith.

So Kerrsed, I am a little surprised at your vitriol towards Warren. First off not sure where you are getting your shooting number from. For the season Warren is averaging 46% and 40% and he is 7th in the league in steals per game and #20 in the league for points per game. That is extremely solid by anyone's reckoning. It has also come against decent teams.
