It's the turnovers and bad decision making. He's still a good player. It's just that after you've watched Steve Nash orchestrate the best offense in the league for 8 years your standards are probably a bit unfair to the player that replaces him. Unless we would have brought in another All-Star PG that is Nash's spiritual successor, but we didn't. We brought in Marbury's spiritual successor. Fans are disappointed.
I'm a Saints fan and I feel bad for whoever QBs the team after Drew Brees. Even if he's better than average we'll still treat him like Suns fans treat Bledsoe.
I think some fans are unnecessarily high and some low on him. Probably more low than high. Personally I'd like him to pass a little more, shoot a little less, and just initiate the offense a tad better (and hopefully cut down on turnovers but that's hard to do and you usually are what you are in this respect at some point). Though as many shots as Booker and Warren are getting it's not THAT big of deal he isn't passing more, considering Booker passes quite a bit as well. We likely are not trading for anyone better anyway.
I will say he's a good enough PG that if he goes down to injury again I think we'd really struggle to play close. Ulis has looked good in limited minutes, but not ready to start. Knight might play a little better starting, but he would probably also take a lot of shots away from Booker and Warren, and shoot far less efficiently, right out of games.
So Bledsoe is a necessary part of this team until we draft a starting future PG, or Ulis somehow proves he is capable of one day being an above avg or at least avg starter (which may be tough considering size).
