Sorry Klay groupies.

:curse:

If that happened, I'd insist on the 1st to be unprotected. I'd also be pissed at our FO. However, I'd get it, and it would open up a lot of other things for us long term, but I'd still be pissed and I think so would the players.

Anyway, can't see it happening.

I should add the qualifier that any trade would have to have the approval of the remaining players. I'm not trading Klay if Curry and Durant insist that he stays.

We should just assume that's a given moving forward in this discussion.

Yeah, I doubt that any of this would eventuate. Even that discussion.

I understand. I'm just saying that without Klay in the discussion, we're likely not getting anything in return that will solve our problems.

Unless we drop in McCaw, which I don't want to do because he's going to be our Iggy/Liv in a couple of years.

Harrison is being held down in terms of individual stats which usually translates to All-Star nominations. Harrison does what is needed of him in an fluid offense and nothing extra because he is not asked to do so. You put him on the Wolves and he would put up 18ppg, 5-6 rbds, and some peripherals and a future All-Star appearance would not be questioned. Harrison might not be able to create for others, but the last I checked, he plays SF and creating for others is usually a responsibility delegated to PG's. I am not saying Harrison Barnes will be a franchise player, but he sure as hell is a better building piece than any of the players you mentioned as trade options for Gasol.

No, he’s really not being held down. He’s taking what he’s being given, because as we’ve seen the past 2 seasons, he’s not capable of creating for himself. He relies entirely on the talent of the rest of the team. That he does it w/o ego is certainly rare and valuable, but it caps what he can be as a player.

You throw out these completely fabricated stats of what Barnes would put up for the Wolves.. well, why didn’t he put up those kind of #s with our backup unit last year when he was given the keys? He responded by shooting sub 40% in the exact same kind of environment that Wiggins played his whole season in. Your counters are just random numbers you pull in imaginary scenarios. Nothing about Barnes’ skillset, advanced stats, and synergy breakdowns tell the story of someone being held back – they in fact tell the opposite story. A role player who’s embraced his role as a cutter and open shot taker.

I mentioned creating for others because usually if a player can’t create for themselves as a wing, they can create for others. It’s very rare that a player can do neither consistently, and still be considered a quality player. It’s virtually impossible that said player can be considered a quality long-term building block without any other elite skills to hang their hat on. And to think a player like that, at SF, is a better building block than a pair of defensive anchor Cs.. all I can say is I hope there’s at least one GM out there who thinks as highly of Harrison Barnes as you do.

scrolling through my old Harrison Barnes post. Looks like he's averaging exactly what I said he would average

although that All-Star nomination is pretty unlikely unless he was on a winning squad

Here are the rumored trades on the Internet:
Klay Thompson for Middleton and Parker
Thompson to Celtics in 3 way trade and get Butler.
Thompson for Cousins
A few Noel trades, include a 6 team mega deal, where we get Noel.
Thompson for Gallinari and Barton

Latest bad rumor, Green being shopped, Orlando and Denver very interested.

Are any of those rumors from legit sources? Most of the rumors I have seen involving the Warriors are from extremely sketchy media outlets...I'm not seeing anything from the top NBA reporters.

These are all pretty bad.

The more I think about it, the more I like the Denver trade.

Klay Thompson

for

Yusuf Nurkic
Will Barton
1st round pick

I LOVE Karl-Anthony Towns. Would love to see the Warriors try and get him....
I would consider Green and Klay for either Towns or Anthony Davis.....

No way are the Warriors involved in real trade talks involving any of their starters after 6 games.

Any rumor involving Klay or Green is almost certainly made up by a speculator, or wishful thinking on the part of another team that may be manufacturing the rumor.

Still early on in the season, but anyone think Livingstons expiring contract is expendable? Clark and McCaw have half a season to prove they can take on minutes and score, play defense, take care of the ball before I would consider this however. Love Shaun, but if his minute can be replaced by the young guns and we can get a solid center out of it then I would consider.

Mason Plumlee is a guy i would target from the Blazers, but he could be had for a lot less.

Nah, I like Livingston. He's been playing well IMO, and McCaw is still a rookie.

I thought the Blazers were high on Plumlee? They'd be pretty thin up front if they traded him, so they'd need a big back I'd suspect.

Read somewhere on tapwire that Plumlee was most likely no gonna re-up after his last year (next season).

Also the Blazers have a ton of bigs: Ezeli, Ed Davis, Meyers Leonard, Noah Vonleh.

OK then. However, I doubt the Blazers deal with us being a cross town rival on the up. They won't want to help solidify our roster I suspect.

Always thought highly of him in college, but didn't get to see much of him in the NBA. I wouldn't read too much into his career as a King though -- they were terrible.

Would love to one day see Joel Embiid in a Warriors jersey.

The boy looks like he is going to be a star

Return to Golden State Warriors
