Are there other Orlando fans who want Knight? The first posts I read in response to your idea there were not overly enthusiastic about him to say the least. I especially liked this one.

Knight can't shoot, can't dribble, can't pass, can't defend, did i say he can't shoot? he makes Biyombo look like Curry. But problem is that he belives he can do everything he can't. One of stupidest players in whole league . Number of braindead shots he is willing to take is just epic.

He fall of Suns favor because he shoots 32% FG, and that's just 8% below his career average.
He is scorer, for better or worst, and in most times it means for worst. For 3 years in a row he is below average 3 point shooter. Just bad player overall.

Maybe.

Tell me about PJ. I thought he had back surgery but Ive always kind of liked him as a player.

PJ is the heart and soul of the team and has been for years, has won the Majerle hustle award for I think 3 years running, and basically is the epitome of hard work and underdog spirit. He's developed into a vocal leader and I think is a great veteran presence around the younger guys. Sets the defensive tone on the court and won't back down from anyone.

He's in a tough spot right now because he probably still deserves rotation minutes, but with the influx of new talent this year most believe we have to choose between him and playing the young guys. And since we're not going anywhere anytime soon, the consensus seems to lean towards playing the young guys at his expense.

He still works his ass off, can defend pretty much anyone (see his stellar performance against Anthony Davis a few games ago) and hustles for everything. His weaknesses are sometimes he tries to do too much (dribbling, playmaking), and it seems his three point shooting is in decline (could be a hangover as he gets back into game shape after the off-season surgery).

Anyway, he's expiring, so you could take a flier on him and he might be a nice little contract to flip at the deadline.

My understanding is that he had off-season back surgery. He wasn't limited last season, so he elected to wait and take the surgery in the off-season as a further preventative measure. It did cost him the preseason, but he's starting to round into game shape after an understandably slow start.

Watch the pelicans game if you'd like an indication of what he can do defensively. Plays all the top SG/SF/PF guys very tough.

If you're just being a good Samaritan here and taking him off our hands I'd be fine with two upper rank tickets and some nachos and pop for any of your home games

Payton and Jodie Meeks for Knight.

I would take a hard look at this if it were offered. I may like Payton more than some, but I like his instincts, height and arm length. I also like that he is a willing passer. PHX is accumulating a fair amount of finishers, it would be good to have a more willing passer.

And maybe our training staff can fix up Meeks and have him looking like he did back in his Lakers days.

Payton has the potential to be an Ish Smith type player aka good 3rd string PG who can pass it.

I would do this if I was the Suns.

I don't think there is a straight up trade with Orlando that ever could work. Would need to get someone else involved if there ever was a chance of doing business.

I thought Orlando would make a good trade partner for Knight. Before the season started I said Knight/Len for Vucevic depending on how well Biyombo played. Now I'd give you Knight for a couple 2nd rounders.

I do not think I could handle Elfrid Payton. Its the hair thing. Now, don't think this is racist. I could not handle Birdman for the same reason.

No, he's on an island all by himself. Also, the Magic would never trade Payton for Knight. Not even sure why he offered him in the first place. The Magic just recently decided to keep Payton over Dipo, which ruffled a lot of feathers.
