I don't even know why people like this watch basketball with a straight face. It's a predominantly black sport. What you just said is racially insensitive. He encouraged racial tensions? Are you kidding me? Please explain what you're getting at.

This was a terrible election with terrible people headlining the their respective tickets. Clinton won the popular vote, votes that has absolutely no value at all. So she is a popular loser today.

With that said, I voted for a third party as I wanted nothing to do with either Clinton or Trump. But it is fun seeing the democrats losing their minds over something they could have prevented by not holding onto a promise they made to Hilary 8 years ago. She wasn't good enough to be the ever crap Barack Obama 8 years ago, so they thought she was good enough today?

Democrats having lose the Senate, the House, and White House should not feel bitter, or anger, but pure embarrassment. They freaking lost to a Reality TV Star. If Donald Trump is the answer, then I fear what the question is. But the dems lost to Trump. I  at the Democratic party today but :nonono: at Americans thinking Trump is the answer.

I don't know if embarrassment is the right word. More like disappointment that we've turned back the clock to 2004, a very recent low-point in American affairs. You're basically gonna see a swift and unchallenged 3-branch agenda to reverse gay rights, increase military spending, reverse ACA (back to no clauses for pre-existing conditions), take down Planned Parenthood, putting an "illegal alien" prejudice brand on Muslims and Mexicans, a possible decrease for minimum wage, tax cuts and high tariffs that will lead to inflation (versus a dumping stock market and wage).

Hope America becomes great again. Looking forward to seeing a rise in those lawn mowing and secretary jobs.

Most presidential candidates were born in the 1960s or before that....obviously they've had more opportunity. Things are different now...more of our younger generation are getting an opportunity they would have never gotten growing up in the 60s or 70s. Are the opportunities equal?...no, but the possibility is there.

But as we have seen even with Obama....it doesn't matter what race you are or if you grew up in wealth or not.........it's all the same.

Obama had to be a boy scout, Trump could do and say anything

Crazy that this happened. Oh well I guess I'll hope for the best. I think there is a pretty substantial chance that a lot of stuff he said campaigning was theater. We'll see.

If your one of those folks tweeting and retweetng lumping all of the white population of this country as the reason for this election your also part of the problem. It's comments like those that continue to separate us as a people.

I typically do not try to discuss politics, especially on the web because it usually doesn't serve a purpose. But right now it all feels surreal. I didn't vote for either Trump or Clinton (California isn't a swing state anyways) only because I really can't stand either but I still thought that Trump was the way worse candidate and really didn't think there was a chance he would win. He had a good game plan, executed. They knew they would get some of the minority and women votes. They targeted the demographic that they knew would go out and vote and fear mongered them into voting. Good plan. I have no idea what is next. I think everyone for the most part is still in shock.

I don't think anyone will know what kind of president Trump will be, I agree that most of what he said during his campaign was all tactic. How much he believes or will act on we will see. I just find it a shame and a truism that this is where we are.

America elected a president that not only is not qualified to be president but the things that he says and gets support on is hurtful and rather dangerous. But it is a truism as to that's where is this country is and quite possibly that is where this country possibly has always been, it just finally caught up. Hopefully it doesn't take 8 years to fix what may happen in the next 4.

I believe what he said was theater. He is a reality tv show veteran. You see his history and he is a semi-liberal. He used the media well. The media were dumb enough to focus on useless stuff like his tax returns which didn't matter compared to what people think of Washington corruption. On a scale of corruption, not releasing tax returns is not even zero. It is unethical but most people will pay less taxes if they can and they can believe in that philosophy.

The other thing was all his comments were simple/plain with no complexity. If he said 100s of things, there were a few good comments and people connected with those few good ones. It is tough to remember anything Hillary said for young people to connect.

The media helped him massively by focusing on his outrageous statements.

We live in a republic, not a democracy. FWIW, states are supposed to mean something other than lines on a map in this nation. I wouldn't say I like the policy either, but it's not some error of history. It's the way it is for a reason.

My next question is, in 2020 who will the democrats nominee be? Clinton is done. Biden will be too old imo. Wonder whose up next.

Trump is also the oldest President ever elected.

I'd say electing Donald Trump is a couple of magnitudes higher than some tweets on the Separate-Us-As-A-People meter.

I think it's Michelle's or Chelsea's turn.

Chelsea wont run for office imo and neither will Michelle.

But not many democrats with potential to look for. If Trump lost, it would be a dogfight between Rubio and Cruz.

Whose to say he even runs for re-election. Im assumed its expected but we are in uncharted waters.

Hopefully I was kidding about Michelle and Chelsea, but who knows.

I think Trump will seek re-election. Too proud to step back even if he hates it.

Dems, IDK. The field of candidates alongside HRC was so sad and forgettable I have no idea.

Quite honestly if the dems want to win, they should nominate Leonardo De Caprio.

The Democrats will try someone like Mark Cuban, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and someone we have no idea about. It depends on how things are going.... Financial crisis or foreign crisis or racial crisis or great things are happening.

I could not live with myself if I voted for either of them. I was just too disturbed by both and had to write somebody in. I just can't believe Trump and Clinton were the two candidates.

It sounds like Congress won't let Trump do much of anything, so I think his impact will mostly come down to global embarrassment. And he'll only be a one term President. But holy heavens - every American is responsible for this.

Trump won the women's vote and he got more minority votes than MCain and Romney did. The democrats need to look in the mirror and see the role they played in this. When Wikileeks revealed that the party conspired to have Clinton beat Sanders, so many people were just too out raged. How liberals didn't vote for her because of this? Plus her use of private server, Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, etc. It was just too much.

But Trump as President? How on earth did we get here? And now look at us. We were given two awful candidates and the more unqualified, outwardly offensive one won. Democratic party couldn't get out their own way.

Every one should look in the mirror. We all have blood on our hands.

Very well said.

Well trump has taught us you don't need a career politician. I wonder if the dnc will allow some outside thinking into the party. There are more sanders and Obamas out ther if you are willing to let them in. they need to think in the best interest of the people and not the dnc.

Swing and a miss. Too many to address nor do I want to get into on a message board. Safe to say if you have been watching the news for the past 8 years, following the news the past 8 years, you would see national cases of racial tensions he has exploited. Don't need to spell it out for you, because you can read and comprehend. If you can't it is probably because you don't want to.

I don't deny that Trump is a massive problem and likely is a racist but it is ok to openly call Trump a racist but it's not when it's a black president like Obama?
