Bush was a good, honorable man? I can't respect his opinion, I think Trump is a nazi and there's no way I would have voted for him, but Killary is just as bad and the media and the famous and millionaire people are just against him because his economics, they don't care a s**t about the minorities. Is not racism to bombing Siria and other Middle East countries?

I respect the hell out of Van Gundy so I'll just have a no comment on that. I do wish we could keep politics out of sports more though as it's mine and many others place of enjoyment away from the madness.

Both were very bad candidates. Bernie would've killed it but the DNC thought otherwise. I'll leave it at that.

Yeah this is really cool of him to say. Stan Van is using sports and the media conglomerate that surrounds it as the vehicle to portray issues and express his dismay, similar to how Kaepernick or more recently, Nigel Hayes have. I wish more athletes/coaches/etc. would do this.

Glad he's not worried about possible repercussions for speaking his mind either (as he shouldn't).

Also, I give this thread about a day at most before it's locked for some perfectly legitimate reason :usa:

This is easily the best thing SVG has said and a lot of us who didn't vote for Trump feels.

I know I use this term a lot, but I think it lends even more credence to it now within context of Stan's comments. The sheer amount of mental gymnastics and irrational justification to look over his deeply troubling character issues is unfathomable in this day and age and still get elected.

I'll end it here. I'm really not in the mood for basketball or anything much really. I can't imagine how the players feel too, who would want to play right now?

SVG needs to stick to basketball. Athletes and celebrities as a whole should just stay out of politics. It's really a damn shame that SVG trots out the same ridiculous accusations about Trump as every other uninformed liberal. All they do is shout sexist and racist and they have no clue what they're talking about. What a joke. This election shows that people are sick and tired of that false rhetoric and it's about time. I didn't vote for Trump and I have some disagreements with him but he is far better than that demon Hillary Clinton. Lets give him a chance to make America great again!

Svg has always been a stand up guy that calls it how he sees it. To expect him to keep his mouth shut because he's a basketball coach isn't really feasible especially if you follow him and get a sense of what kind of man he is. We love him for that as a coach, yet some of you dislike him for that as a person.

The most ironic part is the inability of the liberals to think critically and self evaluate. They can't recognise that they have alienated a lot of the middle class with this rhetoric, people who were moderate or indifferent grew to become tired of their behaviour. The election results were a reactionary move to this, and what do they do?

Instead of thinking, hey, maybe we should approach this differently and try to persuade the opposition in a different manner, they've doubled down on the same decisive rhetoric.

Maybe they'll learn next election, probably not.
