Instant Post game quick thoughts:
. KP is hitting his stride and a lot of it is the PG's knowing how to find him.

. The team started off awkward as hell but settled in and played good ball and then really good ball even when the shots weren't falling in the third, they were getting great looks.

. Melo got a mismatch and poured it on, took the game back from down 9 and took the Nets soul with him.

. Second half defense was impressive, offense was pretty, but I don't want to get too high off a win against this wack opponent.

. Kuz and Willy are fun to watch out there and I think they're making a case for the rotation. Too much stagnation from the current second unit even if they play better defense. Kuz and Willy move, pass and can score; plus they have shown some defensive growth especially Willy...he had a good game on both ends.

.Lance got benched; KOQ got benched; and I doubt anyone is mad about those decisions. Holiday, I like his game but he was pretty invisible.

. Courtney Lee is lookin' like he fits this crew like a glove. He can score in motion, catch and shoot and plays enthusiastic defense.

. Cool moment of the game; Kuz hit Booker with a step back three pointer by faking a drive and Melo said something to him on the way down that left dude smiling. Dad Melo out there.

. BJ was AWFUL in the first half. Dribbled off his foot, got down on himself and committed more TO's while looking upset. Second half, he kept at it passing though and he was brilliant as a playmaker. Props!

. Lastly, shout out to Hornacek's coaching decisions. He benched the right guys and I'm wondering if he threw in the fresh legs because he knew the Nets would tire out on night two. Either way, the decision paid dividends and there was even better motion on defense despite a slow start on that end.

The Noah signing was the worst of the offseason.

Glad Phil took his cranky ass off the arena. He's a looming shadow on this team.
Willy, Kuz, Jennings, KP or Melo, Holiday or Lee. That's the 2nd lineup that can be productive on this team.
Insert Rose, Noah if needed to finish the 4th.
After a rebound, sprint to halfcourt and look for the open man either at the wing or inside.
Melo did a fantastic job. And I disagree that it's selfish iso Melo. I bet you, if he missed one of those shots, he gonna pass on the next possession. He got HOT period. It was amazing tbh.
KP, other than being anemic on the 1st half, showed great chemistry with the unit of Willy, Jennings. I can't complain too much just practice more freethrows KP.
Willy is an underated defender. He defended that paint better than noah today. Yeah Brook got some buckets but he's brook lopez.
Jennings should pass more and shoot less.
I like Kyle this season but whenever he's in the lineup with Lance, it exacerbates their defensive liabilities. Plus, they can't rebound for ****.
Rose didn't play too good but I bet he'll rebound next game.
Noah is disappointing so far. Jennings has more energy out there. Where's the fire?

Why didn't Rose play much? Just resting?

Jennings had it rolling. Brought more defensive intensity and his unit played really well. Rose had 14/4 with 2 turnovers and 3 boards. Didn't play poorly at all, but the coach played the unit that was playing aggressive defense and I commend him for it. Way to set the tone.

Starters well rested for big Division back to back. Thank you bench you made us proud tonight.

1. ISO Melo good when he's the only option
2. Jennings need to bring the passing and defensive energy every night.
3. Willy should be the first man off the bench next game and Sasha as well. They brought it.
4. Kuz with lockdown D on Nets forwards I can't believe it lol

Good team win

Major Caveat: We played a pretty bad Nets team without Lin, but they gave us fits through the first half and half of the third quarter

Thoughts:

1) The ISO Melo run in the 3rd and KP's mini-run in the 4th essentially turned this game around and became lopsided.
2) The other thing that brought us around was when Jeff subbed in Jennings, Kuz, & Billy in the 3rd. They brought us major energy to make this game a blowout.
3) Give me more than 5 assists from Jennings in any given game and we'll probably win. I'll take 11 tonight.
4) Billy had a huge 4th quarter with 14 points. I also liked Kuz's effort too.
5) We have a habit of feeding players when they're hot. That's a good habit to keep. Lee scored his points in the 1st half. Same with Rose. Melo got hot in the 2nd half.
6) I'll take 20 points from KP all day every day. If this is the norm, it's probably the best scorer Melo's played with during his entire time with us.

First half was abysmal, but by the 2nd we were FEASTING. It was the Melo/KP show, with special guest appearances from Willy Hernangomez, Kuz, and Lance Thomas fresh out of a coma.

THIS is how you close out a game. You get the team down, then just don't let up.

Rose will be fine, I'm just glad we got the Euros into the Fray. Now they can get prepared to battle every night. I pray to the basketball Gods that we have seen the end of Lance Thomas as a rotation player.

Noah looks like he's at the point in his career where he should be playing the role O'Quinn does.

Noahs contract is so bad. 4 years locked up. At least Rose is one year.

Jennings egnited the run with full court pressure and kept the offense moving with his passing. Why take that out for a last name. I'm sure Rose didn't mind
