It's also unfair to expect AG to be the scorer that Wiggins is (again a guy who has been an elite scorer his entire life). Not sure how many times I have to say that you can't just expect a guy to grow into being a pure scorer. There are exceptions sure, but generally if you weren't a scorer in college, you aren't going to be a scorer in the NBA. Aaron needs to be moved to PF tomorrow. Bring Serge off the bench and chalk that trade up as a loss.
It's unfair to state that someone was trying to compare Elfrid to Kemba. It was an example brought up by someone trying to point out Payton's deficiencies. They are completely different types of point guards, but I still believe Elfrid can be a good one. He has some exceptional skills that still have value in the NBA.
I think we are really exaggerating Wiggins' offensive prowess when he entered the league. There was a lot of criticism about his efficiency in his rookie season, but that commitment is paying dividends now.
Efficiency comes as you polish your game. When you're evaluating a 18 year old kid you want to see how easy it is for him to get quality shots at the basket. I'm not a big Wiggins fan, but he's always been able to create offense for himself. Those are the players that have superstar potential. We don't have anyone like that right now.
I love Aaron Gordon, but he's never been that kind of player. He's always been an athlete that can do a lot of different things. That's why I see him as a Draymond Green type of player at his best. A guy that may have a 20 point night every now and then, but can be just as effective giving you 13 points 9 boards, a few assists, with a block and a steal here or there. As far as Elf, I just don't understand his motor. It seems like when he's pissed off he can get to the rim against most teams...but he waits until we're down 15 to be that guy.
