Yeah to be frank I would much rather figure out why Trump won than to try to undo the election. Nate Silver (yeah, I know, but hear me out) talked all year long about how Trump is most popular among white folks who don't have a college degree. Those are the people who are hurt the most by globalization and technological advance and no one represents them, politically. So Trump, as objectionable as his behavior is, is the only guy who, lately, has offered to represent them.

So this conundrum we've been talking about in this thread, what to do about the fact that the middle class has basically stagnated since Reagan, that the amount of education you need each year to compete with machines goes up a little each year, we've got to solve it. Let's not just close our eyes and yell racist and xenophobe and misogynist, let's fix the problem that's got these people all riled up first.

Fair trade. I'll listen to you and solve your problems. And then maybe we can talk about all that trash you talked about immigrants and muslims and grabbing women by the crotch and all that. Cause we know you didn't mean it, you were just mad right? Ok, but it's still not cool. Ok?

But don't just ignore the results of the election. That's not helpful.
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

No it isn't, they did more. Russia, wanting a President Trump, hacked into his opponents party, and provided their inter-personal communications to a third party for dissemination. This is a direct intervention that the other side would have screamed bloody murder and had hearings for years. Republicans, since it benefited their side, didn't utter a peep about the harmful precedent that has been set hear.

Give me a break. Wikileaks and Assange himself have both stated publicly Russia was not the source of the leaks.

Assange did state the source would surprise/shock a lot of people.

You give me a break. Wikileaks and Assange are one in the same....Not that we should accept Assange at his word for anything.

1. U.S Intelligence Agencies concluded that the hacks had the same Russian intelligence foot prints as previous hacks. The ultimate assessment was that the Russians hacked the DNC.

2. Said hacked materials ended up with Wikileaks for the purpose of intervening on-behalf of Trump, it is irrelevant if the Russians used a 3rd party to get the materials to Wikileaks or if the Russians provided them directly to Assange.

So, the DNC was targeted and hacked by the Russians, the materials were given to Wikileaks for dissemination, and Assange acting on-behalf of the Trump campaign leaked the materials in drips for maximum damage. We all witnessed an intelligence operation carried out to intervene in a United States election.

As an aside, after all of that, the Comey non-bombshell and other FBI leak (the Mark Rich pardon), more people voted for Clinton than Trump, what does that say about Trump?

I forget, is butt hurt a reference to spanking or to AI (maybe both)? Sounds kind of homophobic.

Trump repeatedly implied he might refuse to concede if he lost, and some of his more spirited followers implied an armed resistance to any outcome they didn't like. In comparison, things like the above linked are just embroidering around the edges.

Let's try both, and you tell me which one hurts and which one feels good.

Well, if you don't care about a person's character and morality then Trump must indeed be the perfect candidate/president for you.

I don't draw as clear a distinction as tontoz does, but I understand the thinking that what looks like reprehensible behavior in a politician's private life might not necessarily predict being a bad president. Most (maybe all) leaders, great ones and bad ones, probably have at least a little bit of dirt in their private lives, and even in their professional past.

Lots of nastiness going on around this country.

Seems like Trump's victory has emboldened the racists.

Be safe my friends.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

That is simple minded nonsense.

During the primaries i said i wasn't sure if Trump's crazy man routine was real or just an act to get elected. As time went on it became clear to me that it wasn't an act and that he was too crazy to be President, as i said here several times.

There are plenty of people who are pricks in their personal lives but great at their jobs. Tiger Woods for example. My only concern with the President is how he does his job, and Clinton was good at his job. Hopefully Trump will be too, although frankly i am not optimistic.

From what i have seen Trump's character flaws have also been a problem in his professional life, something that wasn't true with Clinton as far as i could tell.

This makes me ashamed. Listen what the attackers chant as they beat the hell out of some poor old white guy. "You voted trump" etc etc.

It's an election, not a war. I've sent this video to all my family members and friends DENOUNCING IT. I suggest EVERYONE do the same.

LOL Trump thinks he is THE MAN regardless of who else is around or what the situation is. By now that should be pretty obvious.
