Official Thread - Wiz vs Cavs (11/11/16)

.

Wiz have an opportunity build a modest two-game winning streak. Beal is questionable, but it's not like he's been burning up the nets anyway. Perhaps Wall should try to stay on the floor for this game.

A quick persual of the Wiz ticket site shows lots and lots of avilability. Not just in the secondary market, but original tix that the Wiz couldn't unload in the first place. People vote with their feet and pocketbook. They're demonstrating their lack of confidence in AFM's favorite GM:

Friday will be Veterans Day. Big up to all who have served.

Particularly, if you've served in America's Army -- HOO-AHH!!

My father-in-law served in the 4th Infantry in WWII, and in civilian life spent his career in the Department of the Navy. I always sensed some inner conflicts with him about that. Wizards will win this one for him. Pine and Otto making it happen. Go Wiz!

This is a guaranteed loss. There is no reason to play the game. Anybody with any kind of nagging injury should just rest.

didnt see the last game where Porter went off because I was working. I could only keep up on the box score. Will not see this game either. Hope its a good game from all of them, especially Wall. If he doesnt have a good game, then we will not win.

Oh yeah, I like that EG is the pic at the top of the thread. lol. Till he's gone, let him be the start of the thread.

(Trump voice): WRONG.

Wizards are undefeated since God Emperor Trump was elected Holy Emperor of the Milky Way. I expect that trend to continue into June 2017.

Actually EG is 1-0 with his mug shot at the top of the thread.

Wizards beat the Cavs twice last year. Anything is possible in the NBA, especially a regular season game.

Wall playing -- escaped suspension. Beal questionable.

To add to Pine's comment about tickets, Ticketmaster (which includes resale and regular sale), has better inventory and prices than StubHub for this one. Big swaths of the upper bowl are unsold, especially on the ends, and you can get those for $49.

Note: this is a Gold Level game (second from highest priced).

Also, it appears to me that the team is lowering the gate price in some areas. Is that possible? If true, that would be significant. That's a question that an actual journalist could usefully pursue.

Deal of the early am:

Section 102, Row Q, Seats 3-6, available for $149 each.

The current gate price for these is $235, and I could swear that they were $250 a week or two ago. Full season plan price is $76, and the 13 game plan price is $175. They are essentially right across the aisle from Section 101 tickets that are much more expensive.

If I were interested in going to the game, I would check Ticketmaster and StubHub occasionally during the day for a deal from panic sellers. F Street might be interesting tonight around the tipoff.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE these posts of yours. It provides so much useful information:

-- Actual ticket info in case board members want to catch a game.
-- Real-time visualizaiton of the state of the DMV's interest in the Wizards.
-- Good value opportunities.

Thank you very much and keep it up!

Thanks. I'll do these when I can, but probably skip many of the weeknight games against bad teams because it will get repetitious ("you can get very cheap tickets").

I'll monitor to see if the overall price levels fall even more during the season, which they will if the team underperforms.

I'm interested in this as a fan of the team and a former plan holder who used to sell excess seats on the secondary market.

It's also interesting as a business story. PIF has argued that what happens with the Wizards and the live attendance isn't a big deal to Ted because Monumental Sports is involved with so many other things. But if you have 4,000 or so unsold seats at an average price of over $100 for a Friday night game against the world champs, that's got to to hurt Ted in the pocketbook and be a hit to his ego as well. And multiply the lost revenue out game after game.

Finally, think about what it means for next year and beyond. If I was a plan holder this year I would feel totally ripped off. If I had money to burn, enjoyed the season ticket experience, and could get to enough games, I might continue with full season, but there's no reason anyone should buy a partial plan.

It was fun watching the celtics game. They can't rebound the same story like vs denver. Cavs is another thing

As you all know the plan is to rest Wall in back to back games to save his knees... So if he plays today will he play at Chicago the next day?

If the plan is to rest him in back to back games, isn't it better to rest him vs Cleveland and try to beat Chicago?

Thorton was hot last game and has better EFFICIENTY/minute than Beal this season so far... What do you think to start him instead of Beal... Beal can come from the bench and playing against opponents secondary can help him build some confidence back....

VS CLEVELAND
PG: Burke (if Wall must rest 1 game in back to back) god help us!
SG: Thorton
SF: Porter
PF: Morris
C: Gortat

Note: Beal come from bench and try to build some confidence against secondary unit.

AT CHICAGO

PG: Wall
SG: Thorton
SF: Porter
PF: Morris
C: Gortat

Note: Beal come from bench and try to build some confidence against secondary unit.
