The @hornets list Roy Hibbert as probable to play Friday versus the Raptors.

Raptors may be missing Valanciunas, which would probably be a good thing. DeRozan is in straight up MJ superstar mode recently, so will be huge to try to find a way to lock him down.

I would rather focus on stopping DD and try to let the other Raptors beat us, because I don't think they are consistent enough to do so. Hopefully MKG feels 100% for this game

Demar is in the zone. We should put MKG on him to just slow him down. Are focus should be shutting down Kyle and the rest of the team. Derozan is not going to beat the Hornets by himself. He's good, but he is not Jordan.

smart strategy, that is literally the raptors weakness atm. Im interested to see how demar fairs against a lockdown defender like MKG. Demar started off bad against robertson from OKC but then by the end of the game, he picked it up.

In past seasons he'd struggle against good defenders like MKG, Robertson, Otto Porter etc, but this season nobodies really been able to slow him down, he's been a man possessed.

MKG doesn't really even have to stop DD from scoring his 30+, he just needs to make him work hard and also single cover him so that the Hornets don't have to send a 2nd defender to help. That's the bonus of a defender like MKG is that the Hornets will very rarely, if ever, double-team a wing player, even one who is scorching hot, so long as it allows the other 4 defenders to stay at home on their man.

If DD wants his 36% usage more power to him. In fact take 40%.

Just clog the paint. We'll always be their papa.

That's what every opponent has done to us this season

With DeRozan's footwork attacking the basket and his ability to get his shot over basically anyone, clogging the paint doesn't stop him as easily as you may think it does

For kicks looking at CHA performance since Hairston was replaced by MKG in late January. A record of 31-10 through today, the highest W% in the EC and 3rd overall behind GSW and SAS.

On/Off stats of note. (GSW and SAS ~ +8.3)

"ON" (Hornets +7.6)
Batum: +9.1
Williams: + 10.2
Walker: + 10.3
Zeller: + 12.2
MKG: +12.8
Starters: +15.4

"OFF"
+12.8 Jefferson-Lee-Lin.

That's true, but wait until he plays against our defensive anchor Mr. Hawesome.

I want nothing more than to beat the Raptors. One of the most annoying fanbases in all of basketball, let's keep the good times going.

Must win for the Hornets. Need to get ready for sunday, so the best way is to take good care of the business.

I don't see this as a must win at all. We're 6-1 and the rest of the East isn't off to a great start. Even if we lose the next two and then beat the T-wolves we're in great shape. Very few of us were expecting to do as well as 7-3 to start the season. I would have been happy with 5-5.

I dont think there is any other option. Unless Demar smokes MKG, I would like Clifford to play MKG on Demar the entire game. Sub MKG out when Demar goes out, sub him back in when Demar goes in.

About that, no MKG tonight.

Charlotte Hornets PR ‏@HornetsPR 5m5 minutes ago
Clifford says @hornets @Roy_Meets_World will be back in the lineup tonight vs TOR. @MKG14 is out tonight due to a sore lower back.

Charlotte Hornets PR ‏@HornetsPR 3m3 minutes ago
With MKG about, Clifford says he is still determining who will start tonight for @hornets.

"MKG out tonight is a huge loss for us, we'll need guys like Marco and Treveon to step up." @nicolas88batum

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell now37 seconds ago
My guess: Start Graham or move Williams to small forward and start Kaminsky.

this board used to make a lot of fun about both DeRozan and Paul George.
