I just want him to rebuild some value and be gone this season or in the off-season. Trade both Noel and Okafor. I want no part of this guy, bench or starting.

If he plays better: rebuild his value and lets trade him.
If he plays worse: hes a bust get him out of here.

theres nothing right you can do for your haters

If you don't think a player is a good fit for your long-term plans, you still root for him to succeed to build his trade value with other teams. That isn't hating.

Why would you think otherwise? The guy you responded to said that he hopes Okafor rebuilds some value so that we can trade him. That translates to rooting him to succeed while here so that we can trade him for a greater return. I want the same. It makes no sense to root for your own players to fail and I haven't seen much evidence of that - clearly only someone very foolish would think that way. You always want your players to have as much value as possible, even if you don't like their fit long-term.

so Wednesday the Sixers tied the Pacers with Okafor missing an outside shot at the end of regulation. last night the Sixers tied the Pacers with Embiid missing an outside shot at the end of regulation. lots of variation in individual play of team mates between the two games, but the teams were not like night and day different. meanwhile, Embiid and Okafor want to play on the court together. seriously, why wouldn't we at least try that before making a move, especially as Simmons seemed to enjoy being one of the 3 amigos with them this summer. we already got rid of Joel's favorite GM. after we get rid of his favorite team mate and coach, do you think he hangs around here indefinitely because of the irresistible allure of Philly fans?

Who said Simmons' favorite coach is Brett Brown and his favorite teammate is Okafor?

Offense:
Extremely low roll man frequency that is killing his offense. But his iso game is underrated that makes up 25% of his offense at 1.25points per possession which is in the 88th percentile. Went from 41% assisted FGs last season to just 19% this season.

He's injured and not fully healthy or he would be playing every night. Lets see what he does when the minutes restriction is lifted. It sucks with both him and Embiid, but I don't think he should go anywhere until we see him, Simmons, and Embiid on the floor together, or at least all healthy at the same time.

no one i know. though now that you mention it, the Australian connection plus Brett's "Magic" suggestion don't hurt. Okafor does seem to be Joel's favorite team mate, going back to when he welcomed "my African brother" to the team the day BEFORE the draft. of course the three of them were noticeably hanging out this summer. yeah, the NBA is a business and these guys need to be pros, but that cuts both ways, and it don't ever hurt to be the destination where 2 or 3 high level buddies choose to hang out.

Don't fool yourself . You root him to succeed but still want to trade him ?
You don't root him to succeed you just don't believe him to succeed but hope he could pretend to succeed so as we could succeedly trade him away.

I have had a few drinks tonight but doubt that I could comprehend what you're saying even when sober. As already stated, I root for him to succeed but don't think he fits into our optimal long term plans.

He just need to keep driving on offense. He's efficiency drops at the post and it's difficult to get him the ball.

Hope someone to put up some "nice stats" so that we could trade him away doesn't equal to "root for someone to succeed" if thats what you mean.

Yes it does. I certainly want him to succeed. I just have more selfish reasons for his perceived success.

Why is Brett Brown comfortable with placing Dario at center with Ersan at PF but we never see Embiid, Holmes, and Okafor on the floor at the same time? Ersan got dunked on by Bazemore and Dwight. When Dario and Ersan were the big me that Atlanta team ran up the lead. Jahlil feasted against Kris Humphries' defense, a man that has been a PF over the bulk of his professional career. I want to see a lineup that dictates that Okafor is guarded by the power forward. Teams do not have enough big men to match up against the Sixers.

This is true when Embiid / Okafor / Noel / Holmes / Simmons / Saric are all playing... not quite so much in our current situation.

But I'm really hoping we can have a short time to see what Okafor/Embiid look like together before we move Noel/Okafor and get forced into them not playing together.

Post is a relative term considering how far away from the basket he gets the ball.

What was sort of eyeopening to me is how easy their guards were able to get the ball to their bigs deep. I'm like why can't our PG's do that?

Then I remember none of them are legit threats to score. Why leave your man if you see TJ driving. You know he's just going to circle and pass it out anyways.
