The fastest two teams in the NBA meet on Saturday night. The Suns are playing at the league's fastest pace (104.4 possessions per game) with the Nets ranking second (103.6 per game) under new coach Kenny Atkinson, a former Atlanta assistant, after ranking 21st for pace last season.

“Our pace can get better,” Suns coach Earl Watson said. “We have bigs who can run the court. If you can have big involved running the court and finishing, I think it would take our pace to another level. We have young bigs who are learning the NBA game and how to be effective. Eventually, they’ll figure out the flow of the fastbreak. We have bigs who can run as fast as guards, which is a gift and a positive for us. We have to wait for them to develop in that area.”

* Suns center Tyson Chandler remains not with the team following his mother’s passing on Tuesday.

Watson said Booker still has been bothered by the turf toe that sidelined him for a game on Oct. 31. He went three for nine from the field for 11 points, all in the second half, on Wednesday against Detroit.

“The toe injury lingers,” Watson said. “He never makes excuses.”

“We love playing with Eastern Conference teams,” Watson said. “They are more physical in the post. Their bigs are physical and we have a physical, aggressive team. A-Len held his own pretty well and did an amazing job. What I like most about A-Len is he capitalized on the small things, the X-factor things. Deflections, attacking the basket, blocks, rebounds, boxing out, just controlling and dominating the paint.”

I don't recognize anyone in the Net's starting 5 besides Brook and RHJ. Looks like a D-Leauge squad but we ain't much better lol

Bender should be starting IMO with the way he's been showing out

Great to see you around saintEscaton.

Yeah, I think they have the second worst roster in the league, the Sixers roster is slightly worse IMO.

Without a true PG (Lin out and Vasquez is not on the team anymore) they are in big trouble, we have to win this one for sure.

Bogdanovic is an interesting player, I would like him on our team to improve our shooting.

I'm interested in seeing this guy Kilpatrick, particularly after running into this story today.

A Brooklyn Nets reserve has emerged as the unlikely hero this season. His name is Sean Kilpatrick...

...If you don’t know who Sean Kilpatrick is by now, I suggest you at least get informed about his journey to the Brooklyn Nets. But really, if you don’t know who he is by now, I may start questioning your loyalty. The 26-year-old from Yonkers has been making a statement in his brief time with the Nets. Already, just eight games into the 2016-17 season, he is averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal per game. Impressive for a guy who hopped from team to team in the D-League and NBA just a few years prior.....

.....Brooklyn decided to use Kilpatrick off the bench this season, but that doesn’t mean that he is worth any less than the Nets’ starters. In fact, the sixth man role may suit Kilpatrick even better than the starting role, as he packs a major scoring punch in the Nets’ second unit. This makes him a strong candidate for Sixth Man of the Year.....

....He’ll be our hero this season, and it’s clear why he is loved by so many fans. So far this season, I’ve seen two Nets games live, and was particularly amazed by Kilpatrick’s energy in last Friday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets. There was the Kilpatrick that knocked down shot after shot, but then there was also the Kilpatrick that fought for every loose ball and opportunity to get his team back in the game. In the final minute of the game, it was Kilpatrick who kept hustling his way into the paint to draw fouls. Ian Eagle calls him “Skillpatrick” for a reason. There’s hope for the Nets’ future, as long as Kilpatrick is a part of it.....

...There are a whole lot of things I love about the guy, and many Nets fans would agree with me. There’s his story, the hustle he brings to the game, how he always expresses love for his fans, and how he posts daily about how he’s grateful for the opportunities that brought him to where he is now. What don’t you love about him? Tell me something you hate about the guy. I dare you. Kilpatrick will be our hero not just because of his production for the team, but also because of what he brings as a human being. There hasn’t been a shred of hope in Brooklyn for a while, but SK brings this new hope and energy to the city. If anyone represents the tenacity of Brooklyn Grit this season, it’s Kilpatrick. Keep being you, Sean....

They aren't very talented but they sure play hard. It reminds me of watching Orlando the season after they lost Anfernee. They had a bunch of no-names and ended up winning half their games just by outworking other teams.

If we don't play well, they could make us look pretty bad.

It's weird that Steven hunter is a Suns ambassador when he was only on the team for one year.

League pass is such a joke sometimes. I pay to watch the Suns but always miss the Nets and Knicks games because I live in NY but don't have the channels that show the Nets or Knicks on my Dish package. So basically I'm screwed out of watching 4 games per year. Such garbage.

Steve Albert never shuts up about the Suns "brutal" schedule.

I buy the single team (Suns) league pass and always listen to the opposing commentators just to hear their thoughts about our team.

Funny, I actually went to a Steven Hunter basketball camp during the summer in which he was a free agent. Shawn Marion camp was already sold out and Hunter camp was in Phoenix. He actually came to say hi every day that week, I talked to him and asked him if he was staying with the Suns and he said he would. Obviously he lied... to a 15 year old kid! :nonono:

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bledsoe score 30.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You can watch the games online in a couple of days but it definitely sucks for live viewing. I live in So Cal so for me, obviously, the problem has always been with Lakers and Clippers matchups. I finally got tired of waiting and dumped Dish for Spectrum TV. It's a horrible step-down but I get all the Lakers and Clippers games now.

Return to Phoenix Suns
