You are not going to find a player in the draft that will immediately turn any team around and to be focused on the draft to me is admitting we are going to suck for at least the next 3-5 years. We already have our all star level talent in Whiteside, defensive stopper in Winslow and our 3rd scorer in Dragic, Richardson, TJ or even Waiters. We need more quality depth at C an PF and a VETERAN players that can carry the scoring load. If the Heat Draft a any player in the draft it would be a mistake!!

I can deal with the first 9/10 of your post, but the last sentence just doesn't make sense. If we are not good enough the draft is a source of cheap improvement (look at Winslow & Richardson), and this allows us to add more specific vet help.

We are a collection of Heat fans, so we agreed to disagree on how best to get this franchise back to the top, but I struggle to see how drafting any player would be a mistake.

We would be better off trading the pick for an established scorer since we already have Winslow, Richardson, TJ and Whiteside. A team with too many young players just stunts each others growth!

Are you guys really crying for Derrick Williams? He is the powerforward version of Waiters. Only real possible upgrade IMO will be McRoberts at powerforward.

No it wont. His game is garbage on both sides defense and offense. I think some of yall suffering from the "I want the backup QB" syndrome. Every free agent we picked up this summer was garbage.

I'm probably alone on this, but I like both Ball and Fultz more than Jackson. Ball makes an impact on the game and makes his teamates better. When watching the actual games and not highlights, I just dont see anything that unique or elite about Jackson for everyone to be all in on him.

He was never able to get into a rhythm vs Indiana but i'm sure he'll bounce back.
Also I don't know why Wings go to Kansas they never really show out in Bill Self's system.

Exactly, we signed vets that would take the deals we had, in the time we wanted them to sign.

Look at the struggles Wiggins had at Kansas. It's a big-time program, but it doesn't exactly make wings shine from day 1.

Trade a pick that has a potential PG, Kawhi, Curry in it. No thanks. We're not in the position to win right now. We don't have to tank like the Sixers, but see what you can get out of that pick and build your team from there. Still gonna take years to become a championship caliber team regardless.

Taking years = taking years.

Yup and not just Wiggins. Brandon Rush, Xaiver Henry, Ben Mclemore and Kelly Oubre

No star FA will want to come here if we don't have at least one potential franchise level talent on this team. We have to find that through the draft. The reason why Miami was generally great for so many years was because we had a franchise level superstar in Wade for 13 years that attracted other star/superstar players to come to Miami.

Fultz is the best player in this draft IMO. JJ is 2nd.

Giles is a guy who you take later in the draft once everyone gets scared of his knees. If he's there in the later round, it's worth the gamble. Maybe another reason to get another pick in this draft..

Giles is too much of a project offensively even if he had healthy knees he wouldn't be the best fit for us.
